Jurich has not deigned to attend UofL Athletics Board Meetings...

https://insiderlouisville.com/metro...t-schnatter-avoids-media-on-his-fix-comments/

University of Louisville interim president Greg Postel told trustees on Wednesday that he will apply increased attention and oversight to the UofL Athletic Association in the coming months, though he maintained he was not aware of any dire “fix” needed within that athletics department, as trustee and Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter declared two weeks ago.

This was the first UofL board of trustees meeting since Schnatter stated that leadership within the athletics department was “invisible” to university leadership, and he was scared that “until you fix athletics, you cannot fix this university.” Schnatter has faced a heap of criticism since that time for declining to provide specifics about what scared him so, and once again refrained from doing so after the meeting when he sidestepped reporters after the meeting.

Though Schnatter in the last trustees meeting claimed that this expansion project at the football stadium was over budget, Postel again emphasized that “at this point, this project is on budget and on time… As of today we’re in good shape and we intend to keep it that way, so that this remains a budget-neutral activity.” Postel added that he asked UofL Athletic Director Tom Jurich to attend future trustees meetings, to which Jurich gave “an enthusiastic ‘yes.'

First...not all the bid package pricing for the Stadium have been received....or placed under contract so he is playing word games. Its been over budget since the first packages were placed under contract....and a couple of those because of pricing from only one bidder...(insider deals and LilBro takes care of their friends) but I digress....The AD has not attended athletics board meetings....his job....and I would suppose that is why the previous President gave ole Tom a $6-Mil bonus in secret. Maybe the new guy has a bit of integrity and is tired of Jurich running the entire University like its his personal property.

Subject line needs spell-check

There is no word in the subject line that will not pass spell check. There is a tense problem with the word attend. I wanted to show that meetings in his department were beneath him....so when I added "deigned" to the thought I should have removed the past tensed "ed" to make it attend. Thank you for pointing that out officer.

I love that the new president said that Jurich gave an enthusiastic Yes I Will when his boss told him to attend future committee meetings. He has not been...so Papa, as a member of that board too, rightfully noted that Jurich does not even attend the oversight committee meetings.

I suppose he was too busy keeping prostitutes out of the Minardi Basketball Lodge.....oops, didnt do that either.

Ramsey secretly bonuses Jurich 6-million bucks and he isnt even attending Athletics Dept Oversight committee meetings, becoming invisible. That sounds pretty much like a lack of institutional control that we have all been saying and hopefully the NCAA has more ammo to hit them for the same charges that are before them.

I also forgot to post the link to the story in my OP. I think the article is very interesting. InsiderLouisville is the best source of news in this town. The failed Courier Journal is simply a mouthpiece for LilBrothel and covers up everything that happens there. When forced to cover things they spin it in a positive light and try to beat it down as "nothing to see here."

Congrats to the InsiderLouisville for doing the job the Louisville media largely refuses to do.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. On the radio this morning drew deener said jurich jumps in front of a mic soon as something happens and how jurich is always putting himself out there when something is going on. I thought, well, that's not entirely true. We still haven't heard about what happened with the shooting and oddly nobody was arrested. Seems so odd, with all that is going on in the world, that 2 people can get shot and yet we hear absolutely nothing about it. In this day and age, it's alarming that we still have an athletic department powerful enough to silence a police department in a double shooting.

All these fools on Louisville radio are yes men. They'll ride the coat tails of anyone associated with Louisville and do whatever they say. They tag along on weekends at bars and act like they're famous like they're a part of some entourage or something. It's laughable. I'd be embarrassed and my manhood revoked if I kissed so much ass on a daily basis.

It took a few weeks before it was reported that the victims in that shooting were UL FB players. IF an incident like this goes "off line" what kind of small things are not making it into the public realm? The Vile is a money maker.........forget that they had to throw morals and public norms to the gutter to be a winner.

Odd. rumors were that the shooter(s) might have also been ul fball players. maybe no one will ever know the truth.

And John Schnatter (Papa John) just resigned from the UL board.

I would say either he was too pissed off to stay or Jurich had him resign. My money is on the latter.

The way I read it, Jurich has not attended Board of Trustee meetings. I don't think an AD would normally attend Trustee meetings - it's yet another indicator of how sports are over-sized at UofL.

"Postel added that he asked UofL Athletic Director Tom Jurich to attend future trustees meetings, to which Jurich gave “an enthusiastic ‘yes.'”

Surely Jurich has been attending Athletics Board meetings - which is different, of course, than Trustee meetings.

This one screams of an internal cover-up more than anything in the world. Football players were shot at a party in a private community yet no one saw the shooter. If this were a lone incident at a random school, I could maybe see it not being as fishy. But with all that we know has happened/been covered up at UL, it's hard to look at this in any other way than a cover-up.

You are probably right. It looks like the new President has instructed Jurich to begin attending the Trustee meetings because the Athletics Dept is now going to be under scrutiny....if only to meet the NCAA requirement that the President exert oversight over athletics.

And right on cue...Papa resigns from the Athletics Board. Interesting.

Well.. Had to Google deigned.. Never heard of such a word before.. No need to use fancy mayonnaise words on here,, lol..

I am happy to allow you to capture a new word for your vocabulary.

Let me help once again.....an Aioli is "fancy Mayo."

The funny thing to me is that only someone with very limited English skills would, in actuality, experience difficulty in interpreting the thread title. If you're, say, a native Farsi speaker and need every last suffix and apostrophe in its place in order to piece together the grand mystery, that's one thing. But otherwise, we're talking about pedantry.

Projecting an air of superiority is vital to the Louisville Don (Jurich) and his stranglehold on the media and university. So, attending a meeting called by someone other than himself is akin to carousing with the great unwashed masses. Quite below him, what.

Jurich seems to believe that the University is there only so he can have a sports program to lord over. He is profitable and the University is not. He certainly is not shy about showing disdain for the "educators" who dare challenge his authority.

Ok so my post was misinterpreted.

I just didn't understand exactly what is happening. It's been so long, I'm lost in the UL saga. It's hard to keep up.

wow. Reminds me of the time Bruno Tatallia got whacked.
I always apprecite a good Godfather reference. However, I don't think Jurich can force a trustee to do anything. All he can do is stick his tongue out and encourage others to do the same. Papa's not going to the mattresses, but he is going to stop going with the sewage flow.

My son is also a student working his a99 off with a very bright future. And eff John Schnatter and the Calipari he rode in on.

Calipari is a lot smarter than Schnatter and is using him as a device against UL... The great thing is Jurich is smarter than both of them and got him (and Calipari by proxy) booted...

Also remember that Papa John the person and Papa John's the corporation are two entirely different entities... And the name on the stadium is the corporation which will do whatever it needs to do to make money, regardless of what kind of hissy fits Papa John the person wants to throw...

Everyone/anyone who witnessed anything has gotten paid and signed a non-disclosure agreement! That is SOP for them......

To keep the Godfather theme going......Jurich "made him an offer he couldn't refuse".......

Calipari living rent free in UofL fans' heads.

I'm sure World Wide Wes used Cal as a proxy agent to control Papa John. Maybe they'll name a new speciality pizza in his honor: the Manchurian Special.

I heard there is real evidence that Papa John was the 2nd shooter on the grassy knoll in Dallas and was also the mastermind behind the faked Moon landings. But, Jurich has those files hidden away somewhere.
Or does he????
