Any word on this player? Would have thought this speedy receiver would have gotten an UDFA offer from some team
Signed with the Chiefs.OT, but Justyn Ross of Clemson was not drafted and has not signed an UDFA contract yet either. Had a lot of injuries in college, but as a freshman was just unreal, hard to believe he can't even get a FA look.
Mosely to Cowboys too.Signed with the Chiefs.
Wasn't he the player who had the severe neck injury a few years back? If so that may have scared off teams.OT, but Justyn Ross of Clemson was not drafted and has not signed an UDFA contract yet either. Cowgirls are starting to win me over with the amount of Cats they're drafting and/or bringing inTerry Wilson got an invite to Cowboys rookie mini camp.
Just goes to show you how bad the wide out recruiting was going under Gran. Ali was by far our best receiver and is struggling to get an invite to an NFL camp.So nothing for Ali? Maybe he gets a shot in another league.
His last signing class of WRs was considered pretty good at the time. Luck? Gran was fired in December of 2020, but:Just goes to show you how bad the wide out recruiting was going under Gran. Ali was by far our best receiver and is struggling to get an invite to an NFL camp.
Coach Smith? His last signing class of WRs was considered pretty good at the time. Luck? Gran was fired in December of 2020, but:
1. Christian Lewis 5.8 four star signed June 2020
2. Dekel Crowdus 5.7 three star signed May 2020
3. Chauncey Magwood 5.7 three star signed April 2020
I think the bigger issue with WR development has been the rotating cast of WR coaches. If Stoops ran Hogwarts the WR assistant coach would be his Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher. Hopefully we are set for a while with Coach Smith.
Compared to what other schools in this league recruit at WR that’s not that great of a class. You gotta get some 4 and 5 star guys at that position. His last signing class of WRs was considered pretty good at the time. Luck? Gran was fired in December of 2020, but:

Well, yeah. I wasn't comparing to other schools just the reaction at the time and comparing to earlier classes. Doesn't sound like we disagree.Compared to what other schools in this league recruit at WR that’s not that great of a class. You gotta get some 4 and 5 star guys at that position.

Michael Smith aka Smitty! If Wideouts don't do well we will send him back to wherever he came from...Coach Smith?
Michael Smith is WR coach at South Alabama. Chris Woodward is current UK WR coach.Michael Smith aka Smitty! If Wideouts don't do well we will send him back to wherever he came from...
Josh Ali is with the Falcons at their rookie camp.
Good for him. But don’t recall any notice.Josh Ali is with the Falcons at their rookie camp.
But the joke didn't work for Woodward!Michael Smith is WR coach at South Alabama. Chris Woodward is current UK WR coach.
How I took it as wellBut the joke didn't work for Woodward!
Good for him. I thought we were a lot better when he was healthy last year.Josh Ali is with the Falcons at their rookie camp.
Cowboys might want him on practice squad for dual threat scout look. That's about it imho.Cowgirls are starting to win me over with the amount of Cats they're drafting and/or bringing in
I'd like to take a poll and see how many fully understood the Harry Potter analogy. Feel free to post yes or no with your age.His last signing class of WRs was considered pretty good at the time. Luck? Gran was fired in December of 2020, but:

There are 4 - 5 star WR in '23 and we're 3 in '22. Those are typical years. The chance UK signs a 5 star WR is astronomical.Compared to what other schools in this league recruit at WR that’s not that great of a class. You gotta get some 4 and 5 star guys at that position.
Sumrall pulled Lewis and Magwood. Marrow got Crowdus. None came bc of Gran and you can argue they would have flipped elsewhere had he stayed. His last signing class of WRs was considered pretty good at the time. Luck? Gran was fired in December of 2020, but:

Maybe but they committed knowing who the OC was and everything you said requires mental gymnastics for a lot of teenagers and their families.Sumrall pulled Lewis and Magwood. Marrow got Crowdus. None came bc of Gran and you can argue they would have flipped elsewhere had he stayed.
Practice squads need QBsTerry Wilson got an invite to Cowboys rookie mini camp.
I love TW, but I don't see him as an NFL QB. If he makes a good impression on the Dallas practice squad, maybe he will get picked up by one of the lesser pro leagues - CFL, XFL, USFL, Indoor football, etc., but I hope he got a good college education at UK and the other schools he attended, because I don't see him making a lot of money as a pro football player. I hope I am wrong.Terry Wilson got an invite to Cowboys rookie mini camp.
Too bad he's not Canadian. As I understand that still limits opportunity. Aren't teams limited to a certain number of Yankees?I love TW, but I don't see him as an NFL QB. I think the bigger issue was the poor development at QB. Hinshaw may have been the biggest bust we've had as an assistant since Uzelac or Majors. In some ways he might have been even worse. Every QB during his tenure except Johnson regressed. Every single one got worse the longer they were in the system. And I believe every QB except Johnson ended up transferring out. Even the 3rd and 4th teamers. I can't recall a single one except Johnson that graduated here. That's one of the most remarkable accomplishments of failure I've ever seen. His last signing class of WRs was considered pretty good at the time. Luck? Gran was fired in December of 2020, but:
