Jordan wright suspended for Miami OH

If Stoops is still here after this year then he will retire here. But there is so much BS going on behind the scenes, I can see him wanting out after this year. Just too many obstacles to overcome.
With what Stoops have built and made this a great program, I don’t think he would leave! Why should he. Every program has issues.

Can you provide a link for this information?
There is no link. Jones was the one that said wright and one other would be suspended. Some that say they know said it was all to do with the same job with UK healthcare and it is something that has went on for years across multiple sports. The wrong person found out and they were the ones caught

Well, if Wright and whoever has to miss one game, Miami of Ohio is a good one to miss. Give some of the younger edge guys more reps so they'll be better against SEC teams.

This NIL stuff will kill college football. When a player can make 7 figures selling his NIL, how can anything be against the rules?

So again...why does CROd get what appears to be an additional 2-3 games (on top of DUI) and WRight gets 1 game?

Also, so Oscar Tschwiebe gets $2M in NIL and we don't question if he's actually doing the work he's being compensated for...so why do others get questioned?

I have a feeling NIL will balance itself out over time. Companies will get burned trying to fund top 250 busts, smaller P5 (or whatever the layout is in 10 years) schools will band together to demand caps, governing laws will be enacted by the NCAA or whatever organization there is in 10 years that maybe (hopefully) has teeth, and all of this will likely make its way to Congress again where the free-for-all insanity can be reeled in.

Collegiate athletics are vastly different from any other paid sports platform in that the athletes are also students. They are earning an education and getting their first real taste of freedom. It's a time for learning on all levels, not just athletically... Unless you go to UNC.

Furthermore, college athletics are so popular because as a whole, it's far more regional and more emotional. I couldn't give a single flying F about the Bengals, Colts, Titans, or even a pro team in Louisville. If the college market starts slipping because of NIL, you can bet your ass that strings will be pulled to reign it in and preserve the sport.

It's the wild west out there right now. I suspect we'll start seeing the law come in with plenty of railroad tracks and barbed wire to quell the raucous landscape.

Guess CRod cashed in on phony hospital trips at a very egregious level than the other 2. since in the summer the 1st reports from Jones & Rowland that he was likely going to be completely kicked off the team. Maybe he has made some restitution, so now it is down to 3 or 4 (in addition to 1 for DUI).

Hopefully we are done with this, suspensions announced, and case closed let's move on.

He isn't getting money for working, it's name image and likeness no work involved. The other three are getting suspended for fabrication of false documents to the university. It isn't the money it's the false info. CRod happened to be the one with his hand in the cookie jar and got caught. Wright came out in the investigation. One guy that has said he knew the whole time, said it's another RB getting suspended but he didn't know about wright. I'm not saying it's right but no comparison to Oscar

That’s an administration issue! You’re telling nobody from UK is monitoring those time sheets/paperwork? All you had to do was say “whoa, that’s a bad idea. Here, sign these autographs for hospital patients and hospital will pay you XXXXXX”.

There is no reason why our guys should be suspended for something like this in the NIL era. UK embarrassed Stoops and the program early in recruiting with that NIL crap. They drug their feet, Stoops had to publicly address, and now this bs.

We better have a plan to pay players now! Based on our administration, I’m not so sure.

Stoops is not a quitter. He is a tough customer. If there are too many obstacles to overcome, how come Kentucky has one of the best football teams in the toughest football conference in the country? Stoops is serious about continuing to build his program.

Hard to argue imo. To stay here he has to really want to. No idea why the administration is making things so difficult. They should roll out the red carpet, not fight him every step of the way.

This. Some people are beginning to get it. Others are stuck in NIL which this has nothing to do with. Let’s let it die.

I have no idea about NIL and UK. But I do know for a fact this is NOT an NIL issue. It’s an employment issue which alarms several admins, regulators out side of UK. UK admins had to be involved!

What issues? The funding is approved for the practice facility. Things seem to be improving with the direction we are going with NIL right now as much as they can (judging by tweets from Stoops and Marrow). Note just about every college coach in the country from Nick Saban down is antsy about NIL, as the situation and regulatory environment are still in flux. The CROD thing was a self reported situation which they did in order to avoid a much more severe outcome. All teams, even UT, self-reports stuff like this. People say "football schools would push this under the rug" are reactionary and misinformed.

Stoops has maybe the best contract in college football which almost gives him lifetime tenure. He has extraordinary fan support, unlike other places that have a "win or hit the road" attitude towards every coach they hire. He has spent 10 years building something that's one the cusp of making a huge splash. The only way I could see him leaving here is if he wins a Natty and decides his work here is finished, similar to what brother Bob did.

Probably committee. Wallace has been mentioned by some. K Wade is pushing for major playing time there. They also play a lot of nickel with 3 LBs and 5 DBs

Wallace stepped in for wright vs MSU. Was completely lost and cost us numerous 3rd down conversions. Wasn't necessarily his fault, because he was young and playing out of position. Hopefully this season we have a better option.

The Geoff Bomb last night said K Wade was pushing for early playing time. Also MSU with all their quick passes would be a tough O to be thrown in on

Depends on how you look at it.

In today's world of NIL...if a kid isn't working but getting a check from a company...just figure out a deal where he is advertising for them, spokesperson, community event, etc... It is mostly baloney in the end...schools are getting most players paid from businesses that want them to play for the college they support.

For example...Texas RB has a NIL with a barbeque joint...he's not doing a damn ounce of work but he's getting some ###. This could be simply a reality CRod takes a picture with the business...slaps it on twitter, etc... and it's all good. Why suspend him for this many games when all other schools are letting their kids get paid for doing no extra work. UK is putting restrictions on players getting paid...that other schools aren't doing so.
And having this vague NIL definition...there is no reason to hold yourself to these standards any longer. Same for UGA player, etc...

I agree. He has no reason to leave as he can go 10-3 4 times every 10 years and have massive job security and no pressure to make a playoff or even win the SEC. If he wins the sec once he will be God like so i don't think he will leave.

Imo , Brad White kinda crapped the bed in that game . I wasnt a fan of our defensive game plan for that game . Really like him as a DC though.

seriously.. you can fight it all you want.. I know what happened.... it's NOT an NIL issue... it's an employment issue.... there is a HUGE difference.

I understand that, but this could have easily been an NIL issue, and if that were the case, then there likely is no issue. Understand?

So, yes, while CRod and whoever should not have falsified pay sheets, or whatever the issue is, someone at UK should have known there were better options for paying these guys. Especially in the NIL era.

From what Stoops has harped about, our University was way behind in terms of NIL. You would think a University like UK, one of the best all around athletic schools in the nation, would have been a frontrunner with this stuff.

Exactly. It's that simple.

Will Levis has Malones and Boone's Trace Golf NIL deals...he shows up and eats/golfs, and I assume gets a check for the publicity.

...but here's something I just thought of....

UK hospital can't give NIL deals to their players, correct? NIL money can't come from school, right?

So 1st it was just CROD, now its Wright as well and some on here are saying another player? In the words of the late Ned Beaty in Deliverance: “There’s no end to it.”

The whole defense was kind of beat up, had what I consider a poor gameplan and played horribly. Not fair, imo, to cite Wallace in that game. Coaches have been super high on him since he stepped on campus. I think he'll be fine, especially against MofO.

Game plan was the same one that shut down their offense before. Sadly this time we were down some people and had at least cb with no interest in coming up and making tackles.

We definitely need great zone drops against their o then come up and make plays. Just didn't happen and Wallace was often the one they abused. I get they wanted their best athletes on the field but he just isn't suited out there, which is fine.
