Just terrible, terrible news. Might try and play through it, though.

Washington's Coach: Wittman on Wall: "I’m not BS’ing you guys. I’ve been around this game for 30 years and he’s the toughest. Toughest kid I’ve been around. "

These are non-displaced fractures where there is a crack in the bone but the bone remains in normal alignment

wow...you're right. Terrible news. Great compliment from Wittman though. He & Beal may be the most exciting backcourt to watch outside of Curry/Thompson at Golden State. I hope he can find a way to play through it & if not, then prayers for a speedy recovery.

Terrible news.He might try but I don't see how effective he could be.He was playing so great and I feel so bad for him.

Seems like these playoffs have been filled with injuries. Hope Wall can overcome this and play through it. If not, I wish him a speedy recovery!

Injured it in the 2nd quarter and still put up 18 pts and 13 assists.

This probably means the frauds go to the ECF. Not been sold on the Hawks all year. Wizards would have won for sure if this had not happened.

Cleveland or Chicago will be grinning getting ATL in the finals.

Why are they frauds? They beat the Wizards 3/4 in the regular season, the Cavs 3/4, and Golden State twice.

Obviously, you're not a Hawks fan, but man, 60 wins isn't given to anyone!

Wall may play, but can he be productive? It has to cut down on his drives through the lane. A huge issue going forward, including the mental momentum the Wizards picked up in Game 1.

They are not built to win in the playoffs...I'll retract the fraud comment (just mad Wall is probably not going to be in the ECF now), but they are clearly the weakest of the 4 teams in the East left (and the east is not exactly that strong). People compare them to the Spurs due to who the coach is...fine, works alright, but where is the Duncan, the Parker, the Admiral early on, Ginobli, etc. I am impressed they stacked up so many wins this season, but just not high on them.

I'll disagree, the Wizards are the weakest team in the East. They just changed their rotation to go smaller, and now they've just decided to play Gortat in 4th quarters. Randy is pulling straws out of the cup trying to find the right combo.

The Hawks should be up 2-0 IMO, and their 4-26 shooting was an outlier, not the norm. Time to fix the Game 1 mistake Saturday.

4 all-stars, the COY, and the one 'non' all-star leads them in scoring this playoffs.

I think they're very legit, and I think they can match CLE better than CHI. Doesn't mean they'll win against either, but they've earned their slot this year.

No one wants to give ATL credit, but a 46 win team Washington should not beat you in the playoffs.

Atlanta got hot early. Has anyone seen how they have been playing for 3 months? Not even a top 5 team in the East...

You don't normally hear a "grasping at straws" analogy for a team that won their first 5 playoff games (including 3 on the road).

I work in this field and its shocking to me that these fractures (5?!) were not seen on initial x-rays. I'll admit some fractures don't show on initially imaging and follow up will reveal them, but 5! wow!

The Hawks are chumps, the let a horrible Nets team hang around way too long.

Did you call the Pacers chumps last year?

Its the playoffs......win or go home....the Nets still have enough talent to win basketball games. They screwed up by not playing through Lopez.....Hawks can't match that size for a lengthy amount of time.

there are way too many injuries in the NBA these days, it's hurting the product

Man I hate to hear that, hope he doesn't hurt it worse buy trying to play through the pain, just bad news, get better, here's to a speedy recovery JW.

That's too bad for Wall's injury. I liked cheering for the Wall/Beal duo of the Wizards - thought they were a dark-horse to winning the nba title. Beal is still having some monster games but he looks a little unsure at times running the point.

to be honest, they probably play more games than they should. but the players, and especially the owners, like money. and i'm sure the new TV deal was predicated on 82 game seasons.
