Oh gosh Rick. I dunno. That’s a lot of money Rick.wubalubadubdub! Now that’s some serious cheddar my friends. Ha. Jezz!
A hundred years! Ha.Oh gosh Rick. I dunno. That’s a lot of money Rick.
At this point I would say it’s weighted toward the hitting with the arm issues. TJ is fairly common these days and like all medical repairs they continue to improve it but the second time around it gets dicier and there are never guarantees even on a first surgery. Not really that incredible $$$. LA is basically spending $35M to get a dominant starting pitcher, and $35M to get a power hitting outfielder
This is where we're at in big college sports. No salary cap and the richest schools will get the best players. And that's why baseball is TERRIBLE IMO. Without a salary cap, the league is a rotation of big name teams buying rings on repeat. Look at how many stars the Reds and A's have drafted, developed and had to trade because they can't afford them. It's garbage.
Mark Emmert should have his house burned down. This is where we're at in big college sports. No salary cap and the richest schools will get the best players.
100% this ^^^This is where we're at in big college sports. No salary cap and the richest schools will get the best players.

Cuban has sold his majority share of the Mavs.I think Michigan and Texas are about the only two "richest" in terms of alumni wealth/endowment that are really competitive in anything, and they're both just now clawing back to relevancy.
UVA, Northwestern, Ivy Leagues, Georgetown, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Da U, Notre Dame...
All are in another stratosphere in terms of wealth, alumni, resources...but none of them are really dominating anything...Miami did for a hot minute back when it wasn't on the up and up...if they ever get back to that then we'll know.
It'll be obvious when the real "rich" gets involved. Those alumni are the ones who buy sports franchises and pay people 70 million a year.
I mean Mark Cuban could turn IU into a juggernaut, but he doesn't he already pays high maintenance athletes.
He and the others like him have zero interest in piddling around with collegiate athletics outside of their normal charitable giving to buildings and scholarships as it is. Legacy type shit that they can put their name on and write off on taxes.
The ones who want to be involved in sports, own the sports. I doubt they want to pay 400+ additional athletes in mostly non rev sports too.
Cuban has sold his majority share of the Mavs.
Hahaha...maybe so.I was about to say Cuban is getting out of the Mavs. He maybe looking at getting into college athletics.
And what makes the Yankees players crying about the mandated facial shaving policy ridiculous. If you're playing for the Yankees you're doing alright. And that's why baseball is TERRIBLE IMO. Without a salary cap, the league is a rotation of big name teams buying rings on repeat. Look at how many stars the Reds and A's have drafted, developed and had to trade because they can't afford them. It's garbage.
I think he sold because lots of teams are about to take a hit to their pocket books when the regional sports network deals really collapse next year.I was about to say Cuban is getting out of the Mavs. He maybe looking at getting into college athletics.
