The UK pitching coach has done quite a job with the staff after the opening weekend. The 3 starters this weekend against UCSB were outstanding giving up a total of 4 runs. Combine that with the 2 mid-week victories over EKU and WKU, where only 2 runs scored, and that is quite the feat.
There just seems to be more growth and confidence among the entire pitching group for UK. I have not seen this in past years, even though there was certainly talent on hand for the past few seasons.

I am cautiously optimistic. Both the pitching and offense have been very solid this last week. Hopefully the strength of opponent isn't the main factor (EKU, WKU and UCSB all seem down this year).

I am pretty happy with things so far in regards to pitching, but I am still kind of waiting to see on it. UCSB was really struggling at the plate coming into our weekend and I was happy to see them continue to do so. We did pretty well against UNC altogether, but just couldn't get over the hump. However, the question will be how consistent these guys can be. Hjelle has been great for two weekends, but poor for one. Lewis has been great for two weekends but poor for one. Logue has been pretty good all three, but never really great. So, can we get these guys to at least give us good outings and limit the poor ones when it comes to SEC play?

Yes, like you said UCSB was struggling coming in, but we greatly helped them struggle even more. Their Fri. and Sat. pitchers were rock solid, Sunday not so much.
But I like what I am seeing lately, both mid-week and weekend. Of course scoring double digit runs in games helps a lot !

Ohh no doubt that I like what happened. In some years we would have given up a lot of runs to UCSB in at least one of the games, but this weekend we didn't do that. I'm definitely encouraged by what they've done, but I also want to see more before I go singing praises entirely. The first weekend in conference play going to Olsen Field will tell us a whole lot about how this season will go. If we can get good performances out of our pitching staff that weekend then I'll be extremely giddy.

I kind of got off course from my OP, the job Belanger has done and is doing shows he is a fine pitching coach. He was terrific at Maryland, and has a good pedigree background.
