Jerry Palm’s latest bracket. UK, hanging by a thread, is a last team in.

UNC and UK in First Four?

North Carolina lost at Wake Forest on Wednesday night, and I am not sure that was technically an upset. That is pretty much all you need to know about the state of Tar Heel basketball. They are the last team in the bracket as a No. 11 seed. North Carolina's only Quadrant 1 win remains vs. Ohio State, which has fallen to 11-13 and may not be a Quad 1 win much longer.

Can you imagine a First Four with Kentucky and North Carolina? How about an NIT with both? There is still a long way to go though.

And this does not mean UK (or UNC) have to "win out".
1, probably 2 more losses would still probably be enough, especially if both teams get another Q1 win. 3 losses is possible, but doubtful.
Why? Because all of the teams in contention for those last few spots, are also struggling with a not so positive resume, and few if any of them will "win out".

All that said, I by no means am saying I am satisfied with not making the NCAA-T as even a remote possibility. Hell no!!!

Imagine the marketing potential with Ky, NC and Duke as the 1, 2 and 3 seeds in the NIT. This could be huge!

We are where we are. No problem with that, but how do these idiots have a team like WIS the same as us. They have lost 7 of their last 10 games. 3-7 WTF? They are 72nd NET. We are 40th. They are 0-2 against Northwestern. So they use the NET when they want but not the same or what?

Memphis is in let alone a 9 seed. They are 0-2 against Tulane LMFAO. TU F**KIN LANE. They are 42nd NET and have 1 Quad 1 win against AUB on a neutral court. What a big win. AUB is a 10 seed.

Dook is not a 6 seed. They have 2 Quad 1 wins. Their last one coming Dec. 6th 2022 lol.

I couldn't even look past that. We suck and deserve what we get but how is it this inconsistent?

This is what UK basketball has become under John Calipari. Gone from pre season Top-5 in the country to a team that's the last team in. From the bluest of all bluebloods to a program that at the end of this season that hasn't won a NCAA tournament game in 4 years. How any true UK fan could support Calipari at this point is beyond me.

Don't know how it's going to play out but Palm isn't the most reliable bracket guy.

But I said in another thread that the NIT would love to see a field that included Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State and UNC.
