Jerry Meyer Update on Markelle Fultz

this site never used to allow links to other competing sites. Was that just a Darrel Bird thing or is it still the case?

Used to they'd zap any links to any other sites like Scout, 247, TBK, etc.

They've mellowed over the years.

The stars are lining up for Malik Monk to sign with Kentucky, so I think Fultz ends up somewhere else. Calipari covets Monk.

Noticed a tweet yesterday that jerry replied to a fan that had two options, one was he has made up mind about UK and just taking visits or taking visits because he knows he doesn't want UK. Jerry responded by prompting to his crystal ball pick which was still UK. Granted, jerry is a serial pick changer, but still likes UK as of now. If he still plans to commit early, I'll gladly take him to not have to drag out like last year, even though it potentially turned out better than expected/could have imagined.

I wonder if Calipari is open to the notion of taking Monk and Fultz, provided they both play combo guard for UK and swap duties as Ulis' backup - or even in the scenario where Ulis leaves after this year.

Monk will likely have to play some point guard in the league. I'm not sure I'd be adverse to a Monk-Fultz-Alkins-Bridges-SKJ lineup. Monk takes on the role of a scoring lead guard like Knight.

Positions mean less and less as we move forward...so he's not thinking "gee, should I really try to get 2 guards in the same class", but more like "are these 2 of the best players in this class, and if so how do I get them"

If Ulis leaves, I'd love to see Fox and Monk as the starting backcourt with Fultz backing up both.

this group is much better than Bird, i quit this site for a few years because of his attitude towards information about UK that this site did not have

Grabbing SKJ, Bridges and two of the guards you mentioned would work for me. (I'm assuming Mulder, Ulis, and Mathews return, so we don't need a boatload of new guards).

'16 class is so loaded that it's hard to zero in on certain recruits. Luckily UK has the best in the business.

Id bet my left nut Ulis doesn't leave.
Why so? It'll be a down year for point guards in the draft, he'll get lots of PT and plenty of opportunities to prove himself, and because of his size he'll never be a lottery pick. His stock is pretty much what he makes it this year. It's nowhere near a sure thing but in my mind it's about 50/50.

Used to get blacklisted for asking why Tubby told Sheray to leave the FT line.
But that was the Tubby super friends coming to his defense. Seems their was an over zealous moderator who was a real a**hole and had a chubby4tubby Got an idea who that was???

WoodstockCat, I think.

It seems certain we will add at least 3 guards as with the guys he is recruiting it looks like he wants 1 pg ( simmons or Fox ) 1 combo guard ( Fultz ) and one true SG ( Monk or Alkins ) along with 1 SF and 2 Bigs.

Would you rather have Smith or Fox & then the rest you pick?

I don't think we sign six high level guys. Not with the talent we are expected to return. Mulder will be a Senior, Matthews should get minutes as a Sophomore, Wynyard and Humphries should be contributors inside. There's just not much room if those guys are contributors. So I think we sign five elite level guys max:

Point(1)- Fox, Simmons, or Smith
Wing(2)- Monk, Fultz, or Alkins
Wing(3)- Bridges, Gabriel, Fultz, or Alkins
Wing/Big(4)- Killeya-Jones, Gabriel, Bridges, Adebayo, Leaf, or Maker
Big(5)- Ayton(reclassified), Killeya-Jones, Maker, Adebayo, or Bolden
