Jemarl Baker

He has a great all around game not only does he hit 6 threes he hits like 6 of 8 with NBA range he plays out of position at PG due to an injury and the other pg being young and he manages the team well. west coast kid who signed early was labeled as to short for NBA 2 not quick enough for a 6ft NBA pg so the recruiting analysts left him alone where he is. But he also grew 4 inches and has improved his athleticism. This kid had a been east coast he would of been ranked low to mid 30s and after his performance vs Duval in this game he plays up to his competition he rises to the challenge. Kid will play more sooner than we think

I'll start by pronouncing his name completely wrong dick vitale style. Jeremy baker will be a big time player for us. I don't expect him to score 10 a game as a freshman but he can come in a knock down atleast 1 or 2 to keep the defense honest. I also think he will have a couple double digit games this yr. he will be a great 3-4 yr player

If he's averaging 8ppg or more after his 2nd year he'll be gone imo

Especially if he had a really good fg %-- and or 3pt shooting %

I really hope Cal gives him a chance his season and even keep him in if he makes a couple mistakes bc I think he could be a Crucial type player for us in march

I can't wait for Jamal Baker to start canning threes and being the shooter we need. You can never have enough shooters.

Yeah I know, had he stuck with cal and did that he would be a 4 yr player

After a year of adjusting to the speed of the college game as a FR playing spot minutes, which most all HS players require except the superstars we are used to Cal bringing in, I see him as being a GREAT addition off the bench that can occasionally knock down 6-8 3s in a game while being one of the first guards off the bench.

As a JR, if he works hard and listens to Cal, I could easily see him starting at the 2 and leading UK in scoring while opting to enter the draft at season's end.

I'm REALLY hoping by a JR he has become the next Dominique Hawkins with an exceptionally well outside shot.

Jemarl actually reminds me a bit of Hawkins as a HS SR minus Baker's sharpshooting ability.

If he is lucky enough to improve at the rate Dom managed while in Lexington, Baker won't manage to turn down the NBA all 4 years after playing here thanks to his shooting prowess mixed with everything Dom improved in his time at UK.

I really wish Calipari would fill one of his last 2 scholarships with another player that has the potential that I see in Baker. Maybe a 6'7" type player that can develop into the next Erik Daniels after his SO year. I'd prefer a tweener like Daniels so we can hope to have him for 4 years for the experience he could bring to the table.

All in my completely worthless opinion as always.

I'm sorry, but I've seen Duval in about 4 games now, and I just don't see how he's supposed to be that much better than other guards. Also, really don't see how he's Top 10 overall.

He looked great in a few of those all-star games where they play ZERO defense, so he could be a dud. Sure hope so!
