I love that guys like Goodman, whose very profession used to center around investigating and bringing important information to the public, throw out these lazy accusations with enough gray area to cover their own ass, but never dig and actually prove anything.

It's especially egregious and pathetic when there are places like Carolina just begging to be looked at and they'd rather tweet some smarmy nonsense about a guy at Western.

Many people considered Stansbury the shadiest recruiter in the SEC while he was at Mississippi St. Who knows. It's probably all BS but he has had that tag for a while now. Of course, all the haters day the same thing about Cal so it may be just sour grapes.

Well I think every school cheats. It's just the nature of the game and how you do it. I've always thought the shoe companies funnel money to the recruits so the coaches can stay clean and it's easier to cook the books with shoe companies bc the NCAA would never investigate them. It was Bam that cost us Allen initially. We were considered the team to beat with Bolden and already had Skal. But it was when we unexpectedly got Bam when we stopped showing Allen love. When Duke moved in on Bolden and us getting him started to look in doubt we tried to get back in on him and he wasn't having it.

Remember Goodman had the time to go after UK assistant Bilal Batley just before the final four in 2011. He can't find the time to investigate coaches' implications that Rick Stansbury pays players. Interesting decisions he makes about stories he pursues.

Well said. WKU might not have the same $$ as most major conference teams, but they have had more success and have better facilities than 90% of CBB teams.

I doubt WKU pulls in recruiting classes like this one in the future, but they will continue to get unusually great talent as long as Stansbury is there.

Western has a strong basketball history, mid-major or not. They are 18th on the all-time wins list with 1748, thru the 2016-2017 season. They also have over 40 conference championships & have made a few sweet 16's & one Final Four. They have a very respectable basketball resume.
