Jay Wright just stepped out of the coaches box, no tech

It amazes me how there ALWAYS seems to be a double standard with UK and Cal. The NCAA is the DUMBEST organization in sports.

By seemingly treating UK more harshly, the NCAA is eliminating their BIGGEST supporter. I read an article yesterday where a CBS executive stated that he was pulling hard for UK over KSU because of the tremendous drop in viewers that came from KSU winning.

Did Cal even get a warning in the KSU game? I only ask because Stansbury got warned when WKU played OSU last week and that was the end of that. He didn't get T'd up immediately.

Well, it’s not the same refs, right? Officiating has no clear set of calls. It’s just up to those officials and even then, they change their minds in the second half with how they call stuff.

Until the refs are held accountable and made to enforce the rules evenly across the ncaa spectrum this will continue.

Cal didn't get a T for being outside the coaches box. He got it for running his mouth. Whether he was right or wrong in what he was saying, it was a very bad point in the game to get that technical.

No other coach has ran their mouth either. Wright just did after that call on them...

Some ref's you can run your mouth to and some you can't. I know it's not a fairly applied rule but, that's life. Plus, Cal uses some pretty salty language on the sidelines. Some refs are OK with it and some aren't. I don't have a problem with that, only the timing.

Friend of mine who can't stand UK said he can't believe Cal got T'd up in a tournament game over a coaches box issue when every other coach in the game is out of the box all throughout the game. It's one way refs can certainly influence the outcome and bring their individual biases to the table. Sure enough, it very well cost UK the game - not PJ's free throws. It just keep the run going for K-State at a time when UK needed to stop their momentum.

Didn’t Cal get screwed against us in the NCAA tournament on a call like that back in like 92?

lol shame on you cal.... you and that salty language.. I wish he was a choir boy like all the other coaches .. they never use bad language![eyeroll]

Yep he was irate and ripping the officials. Nothing.

Obviously not calling a technical was the correct choice. But would be nice if we got the same judicious officiating

Then why was it only a one shot technical then? The announcer(can't remember radio/tv) even said Cal got the tech for being out of the coaching box.

He is not out of the box in this picture. Chrck the hash going towards midcourt about 7-8 feet. That is the box mark.

That is the coaching box another 7-8 feet he's at mid-court. Look at the pic with Weber in it look at the table behind him see how far he is to the end of the table close to his bench. Then look at where Wright is in this pic. Same distance.

It's not so much UK as it Cal. The NCAA and referees don't care much for Cal and it shows.

Watching on TV, we don't know what a ref has already said to a coach before he tees him up.

Lol doesent matter. We make couple free throws doesent matter. Lets.dont bitch about the tech, until we can make some.****ing free throws . Smiling at the line looking shook af. Hopefully pj will-improve his free throw shooting.

The problem was, it came on the heels of a horrible call where Knox made a shot, and should have gotten an, and one. Instead, they waved it off, hit Cal with the technical, they made the foul shots, plus a basket, and there was a swing of about 7 or 8 points.
