Freddie Maggard raved about this kid and said that he was likely the most underrated player that signed with UK this signing period.Originally posted by TTU/UK fan:
Our D-line will have some good depth soon. Some big fellas coming in. Javonn could have a shot at play time this year, seems like a faster Elam.

Marrow said he did on KSR, or at least heavily implied it. Said something like, "We were in on him early and once he got his academics taken care of he committed."Originally posted by @lleycat:
So did he get academically qualified?
He comes off the line so fast and so powerful. Great addition. This is the kind of guy we need when we play UGA or LSU.Originally posted by tdcat:
Amazing "get off" for a DL his size. Best I have seen for a UK recruit in years.
If we add London in the '16 class we are starting to get the type of DL rotation Stoops wants.
Because Provitt is a much better player than Hamilton. The only reason why Provitt had a lesser offer sheet is because schools backed off due to earlier academic uncertainties. Stoops and Marrow stayed with him, and it paid off. Provitt got his house in order, and Stoops got a really good defensive tackle. This guy will have an impact in the interior of our defensive line. I won't say he will become our best defensive tackle, because I know what a storm that would set off. But it wouldn't surprise me.Originally posted by TNTUK:
I've mentioned it a couple times in other threads, but when Hamilton was considering OSU before the flip to them, some OSU fans came on TOS and indicated they'd rather have Provitt than Hamilton. Not 1 OSU fan, but multiple. The issue with Provitt had always been academic, rather than his talent. Once his academics got shored up, he became a Cat.
He may end up the steal of this class when all is said and done.
