Jarred Vanderbilt Trending Hard to UK

6'8 Point/Forward out of Texas. Kid can really play and is probably the most versatile player in the 2017 class. Consensus top 10 player. Would be great if we could get him on board early.

He had 33 points, 23 rebs, and 6 assts when Cal and Payne went to see him the other night.

In just listening to the rumor mill for the 2017 class his name is the kid most often attached to UK at this point. We're definitely the perceived leader for what little that is worth. As I keep saying on any 2017 thread we are projected to have 7 open roster spots likely so any early commitments would be welcome.

What rumors are you referring too specifically? Please explain. I've not heard this.

Great dude! Met him at the Marshall Co. HoopsFest; very conversational, well spoken & polite. My son took a pic with him & we just sat & chat for a bit. I was fully decked in UK gear

Now THAT'S what a lefty is supposed to look like. No offense to JR, but sometimes (seldom) he played like being left handed was a detriment to himself. And no offense to Jarred Vanderbilt, but that squad of runts he's playing against look better sized for the Saturday rodeo in Abilene. Size, body, quickness, motor is certainly there. I like the one 3 pointer he hit. Can he actually do that for more than just a highlight vid?

Would love for UK to add both Petty and Vanderbilt. Two springy, rangy wing forwards with tons of upside. The class of '17 looks rather weak from a point guard level, however. Might be worth adding Simmons this year to have a legit sophomore lead guard for '17-18.
