Jan. 3 current UK ratings from different services

Average puts us at #15. If we win these next 3, two are against quality road opponents, it will go a long way to papering over UNCW as the anomaly that it likely was. Sucks that one loss counts against us as the equivalent of 3 losses on these some of these metrics.

I hope the committee factors in the eye test more this year than most. The NET and Kenpom are so whacky. They will love Tennessee and Alabama all year, no matter how many games they lose.

The other games may hurt us worse. Stonewall and the like. Florida Atlantic has two worse losses that UNC-W and they are one spot ahead of us in the NET.

The committee will do what they always do and set up match ups for tv views. Then try and make up some reasoning based off of whatever metric.

Would anyone be surprised if UK ends up in a region with both unc and ku?

The people that watch us on a regular basis like us more than the computers. Keep winning and that RPI/NET will only get better.

We are the same team no matter what nerd numbers say. If we are the best team in the country then we are the best team in country. If one wants to play a computer simulated game then the numbers would matter.

Of course it's nice to look at when we are climbing the polls. But that's all it is. Nerd numbers will affect seeding but that's a non issue too. We made the FF under Cal as an 8 and a 4 seed in addition to twice as a 1.

The power does not reside in the Lunadis of the world. The power is in the team!!

There is not enough time in the day to "watch" more than the computers do. The computers take information from every single game. A regular person can watch maybe 2 games a weeknight and 3 or 4 on a weekend at the max.

If we are an elite team, the rating systems will take care of themselves as we play more games.

The next month of so will sort things out. Rebounding and transition defense are a concern...we shall see. The only other thing that can affect "a game" is outside shooting, as we are doing more of it. Live by the three...die by the three. But we do have several weapons. Keep the assists up and we're in pretty good shape.
