KAT also didn't average that many minutes. Let's say he was on this team. He possibly would get multiple games like skal had once.Interesting to see that Skal's high game will forever be higher than KAT's.
Just based on seeing him play in the Nike Hoops fest game and the Pan am games before coming to UK had me convinced he was better than Goodwin.Nice! Where's the guy that said Murray is Goodwin 2.0?![]()
10 of the top 12 freshman high games are Calipari players. Which reflects a few things. The OAD era coupled with Cal's recruiting prowess has us relying on freshman to score like never before. Also, that list only has stats from 1961 on, as well as the fact that for many years freshman didn't play.
Loving me some Murray right now but when I look at that list I'm impressed with the games like 31 by Mash and 27 by Bowie and Rhodes where those guys had veterans around them.
Seriously not taking anything away from Murray's shooting but just got to keep things in perspective
If true, its because that freshmen wasn't allowed to play in the days of Dan Issel and before.... Louis Dampier wasn't eligible to play, plus no 3 point line for years.... Things like that could have been the cause...http://www.bigbluehistory.net/bb/Statistics/gamepointsbyfreshman.html

Actually the 1961 is really meant to say that the stats are completely valid back to 1961. There are indeed players listed who played prior to 1961. It just may not be complete. (although in the case of scoring the lists are generally fully accurate back to the early 1920s)
BTW, if you're concerned about the fact that for many of those years freshmen were ineligible, I also have a list of first-year high scorers.
