Tubby was great at times but fizzled late in his tenure.
We hired our third choice and it was a train wreck.
This new charismatic guy has us rockin'.

Forget '99-'08 all full with different levels of disappointment.

10 Loss Seasons and early tournament exits became the norm—with a few exceptions—until 2009-10, and then became the norm again in 2020-21 until now. The in-between years were mostly magical, with 4 Final Fours in 5 years, 1 Championship (and 1 NIT bid, too🤷♀️, I said “mostly”).
Pitino became the head coach of…wait for it…UofL, and fell out of favor with UK fans over this and various scandals.
Tubby went to MN where they were more than glad to have a coach who consistently had 10 loss seasons.
Calipari, though the most winning college coach of all during his time at UK (but only ONE NCAA Tournament win and ONE SEC Tournament win in the final 3 seasons), left to coach Arkansas!

Tubby turned out to need a GM and player whisperer and fizzled his way to Minnesota.
We hired a drunk to replace him so you know how that goes but at least we didn't go on probation.
Our AD was "strongly encouraged" to bring in Calipari after the drunk melted down, you know that coached that UMASS team with Camby and we went to like four Final Fours and won a Championship.
The last we were 38-0 and lost to Wisconsin but after that still competitive until this decade where we haven't won a SEC season or tourney, gotten out of the first weekend, have missed one, and have gone one and done two out of the past three years so he pigheaded his way to Arkansas.
Mark Pope has been our coach for a week now and you may need more sentences to catch up on the game overall.
Also, we were attacked in 2001, went to war, Bruce Jenner is now female, Michale Jackson is dead, R Kelly is in jail, Tiger Woods lost his toes, a black guy was President, Donald Trump became president and then got mad he was thrown out,

Tubby already peaked, but at least he was better than the guy after him that locked our center in a bathroom stall and lost to Virginia Military f-n Institute.
We hired a shady Italian – no, John Calipari – Pitino went on to coach Louisville and become one of the most hated figures in Kentucky basketball history while orchestrating at least three major scandals involving cheating and sex.
Calipari won us a championship and had one of the most dominant six year runs in college basketball before fizzling out and pissing off the fans and boosters during a global pandemic. Oh yeah, that was a whole thing.
Now Mark Pope is coach and Kentucky fans maybe love Pitino again.

The last 4 years we've not been on probation. With our results it just looks like we've been on probation.
We were pretty good then we were just flat and boring. Got a new coach but he sucked. Got another one and he was amazing until he wasn’t. Now Mark Pope who you should remember pretty well is our coach and we’re excited to see what he can do. Now hit the showers. It’s been a long time and you smell weird.
