That is what has been missing, especially early, in these last 2 games. We are improving offensively, which is very good, but the difference is on the defensive end. Our Cats have only played defense in spurts in these first 2 conference games.

Against Ole Miss we came out playing solid D, got up 14-0, and then relaxed. We didn't really start playing with that jntensity again until late in the second half, and by that time Ole Miss's confidence was sky high.

In today's game we came out flat defensively and let A&M go up early. We didn't start really playing tough defense until about 5 minutes to go in the first half. We came out strong in the 2nd and appeared to take control before relaxing again and letting them right back in it.

If this team will focus every game on defensive intensity, the offense will come. That's why UK won all those nonconference games- the defense carried us. We just need to get back to that kind of intensity every time down the floor and the wins will keep coming. When we buckle down, nobody can score on this team with any consistency.
