It’s been a long time since Kentucky has had a guard like DJ and I’m ready to see what he and this team can accomplish. Sky is the limit for this group once they are all fully healthy…..

If there’s a better backcourt in the country come January ill be shocked…maybe even sooner….
IDK, Tyty, Maxey and IQ were pretty good guards. It wasn't that long ago that they played in UK blue.

4 years is a long time especially when 2 out of those 4 have been with Wheeler. People can have their opinions but I think he made UK basketball worse
I'd maybe add Shai to that list.
Wagner may end up the best 1 yr guard ever at Kentucky.
He has a jumper to go along with his handles and quickness to get to the basket.

We’ve had guards. What we ain’t had is a real stretch 4, shot blockers, and dominant wing players to go with the guards. We appear to have those things now.
We may have the best backcourt group of players in the country right now. My eyes see lots of talent in this group
Yeah, I was just going back a few years, we can use SGA, Fox, Briscoe, the twins, Ulis, Teague, Lamb, Knight, Wall and Bledsoe too.
DJ is special, just like his Dad was. He is going to be fantastic by the end of the year. And the fact he is following Sahvir, makes him look twice as good as he actually is

When you look at DJ Wagner and Sahvir Wheeler, one guy is what a starting UK point guard should look like, and the other guy is Sahvir Wheeler.
I'm delighted to see so many positive comments about this team's potential. I guess the gloom and doom crowd has disappeared, at least until we lose a game. Then the sky will be falling again. Let's enjoy this!

Ty Ty and Maxey w/ IQ didn't all play together. But I get what you are saying. IQ and Maxey , I will be very happy if we get that kind of production. Monk and Fox production would be heaven.
A very underrated back court was FRESHMAN Ashton Hagans, Tyler Herro and Keldon Johnson was very solid. After Quade got his negative ass on to Washington 9 games in.

I was just naming off guards that were elite. If you want a trio of guards and you're going to include Hagans (I wouldn't), you only have to go back to 19/20 with Hagans, Maxey and IQ.
Ty Ty couldn't hold Wagner's jock, I'll give you Maxey and IQ but I believe Wagner will be better. Think Dearron Fox type skills
Cal's saying all the right things, so far. I hope he lets Dilly cook and play through his mistakes early on and not captain-hook him every bad shot or turnover. He's probably going to do some stupid shit occasionally but he's so dynamic with the ball in his hands. It looked like it had it on a yo-yo.
The one that worried me the most was Edwards who I thought had the possibility of being 1 of our best players but was a no show today. I had been worried going into the season about his shooting and I think it's valid, I think he will hustle, I think he will defend, but I don't know if he is a very good shooter.
As long as he is okay with that role of rebounding being down and dirty then it will work if he wants to take 15 shots I think we're screwed.

Edwards has a very smooth looking shot and he will be just fine. Wouldn’t make too much off his poor shooting today and he didn’t really take that many shots today. He will have some great scoring games this year. Needs to adjust to the speed of the game and he will.
Yeah I'm not going to panic off of one game just a little suspicious of his shooting before the season started, but I mean Shep looked like he was the higher ranked player and just worries me with his shot, but I think he will make up for it in other places, especially defense.
But I mean this guy is one of the guys that could have been the number 1 overall player and you just don't see a lot of games like that for a guy touted that high no matter how early. Hoping he kills it next game.
Tyty set the dang single game assist record at UK and he was an ace scorer, I'd say Wagner is the one that has to prove he's as good as Tyty.
It was one game against an unathletic team in July, we should wait before we start saying Wagner is all world.

Still here. Thought we looked pretty average against a team with no athleticism and missing their star PG. Wagner is very legit though.
Me? Give WHAT a rest? When have I ever said anything about Wheeler? My only point is negative people will find something to be negative about. And angry people will find something to be angry about.
