John Calipari may not be able to discuss his ejection from Saturday’s game at South Carolina, but that hasn’t stopped his players from talking about it. Isaiah Briscoe was asked about Cal’s ejection today and said it fired the team up to the point they wanted to beat the Gamecocks by 30 points.

“I didn’t hear Coach Cal say anything to the ref, but the ref did what he had to do and before Coach left we told him, ‘Coach, we got this. Don’t worry about it. You always have our back. You always put us first. We got your back on this one.’ I think the next timeout or whatever, we said, ‘Yo, we gotta go beat this team by 30. They threw our Coach out the game. Let’s go beat them by 30.

These comments illustrate why I love Briscoe and why I will miss him so much next year - coz I still think he's gone. He is a guy who is completely all in on Cal. He respects him as his coach and trusts him.

As much as I appreciate the twins and what they accomplished, I think for the first 1.5 years of their careers at UK, there was somewhat of a disconnect there. There is no disconnect this year with Cal and our three guards.

We went to back to back FF, made a championship game, and had the most wins of any team ever in 1 season with the twins leading the team...not sure what you mean by disconnect.

I really love briscoes attitude. He is cocky but it's a good cocky. I also loved him spiking the ball on the Murray dunk.

Like I said - I'm not disrespecting the twins and I appreciate very much what they accomplished, but half-way through his sophomore year, Andrew made a statement in an interview about "finally trusting Cal". The twins were just very strong-willed kids whose Dad played a huge role in their game growing up, and think trusting in anyone other than their Dad was somewhat of a struggle for them.

I. think that trust was established by the end of the year last year, but it wasn't an easy process, and I'm glad Cal doesn't gave to deal with it this year.
