Isaac Humphries....

Should've stayed, would likely be our starting Center.

Maybe, but he had an enormous way to go. Basically had two, maybe three, decent showings all year.

He's still young, so anything can happen as players mature. But if he didn't improve dramatically, came back, and started over Richards then that says a lot about where Richards is.

I think the North Carolina game glossed over what a poor season Humphries really had. There were long swaths of the season where Cal just couldn't put him out there.

Love the guy but his feet are too slow to be a starter on any level other than overseas.
Right now, yes. But he is still extremely young. Personally, I would draft him as I do think he can contribute as a rotational player down the road.

Agree with that and would love to see him be a starter down the road.

He's super young and it's very difficult to sit on the bench for long periods and then just come in and be awesome. It also doesn't help that you know if you make one mistake, your butt is getting pulled where as other guys ate afforded many mistakes.

If Marshal "Franken" Plumlee can play 21-games for the Knicks (which is not saying much) I have very little confidence in some NBA teams talent evaluators. Terrence Jones gets waived by this same Bucks team while playing only 3-games/ 9-minutes out of 16-games while he was on the team!

You seem super concerned about guys getting pulled for making mistakes.

How would you have felt if Cal had pulled, say, Mychal Mulder and inserted Hamidou Diallo for him back in February?

I bet that would have really ticked you off.

If Humphries ever plays a minute in the NBA (not the D league) I will run naked across the YUM Center court at halftime of a UL with a U and K painted on each butt cheek.

while I agree that it's unlikely Hump gets the call - this though
It would be worth it just to see Hump play that one minute

What? Lol I simply pointed out how it's hard to get going with that mentality. I know you have a hard on for Diallo and you get your period every time someone dare has any criticism that hurts your fanaticism.

Get a hobby and stop following me. I don't care at all about anything you have to say.

To the ignore list you go. I know you're desperate for attention but I'm not gonna give it to you anymore.

Whatever floats your boat. But you're right. I hang out on a UK message board and trash our coach because I'm seeking attention. Oh wait, that was someone else.

I don't see it being impossible that Humphries could be decent for like 8 minutes a game in the next 3 years or so. He would be 22 years old at that point. It's not likely but it's not impossible.

I just never got the Humphries has NBA potential mantra that many have on here...to me he was closer to Luke Orzbut than he was any other UK big man that has ever played in NBA.

- Nice tall frame and solid size through shoulders to carry good weight/muscle as he matured
- Kid played hard and tried with a good attitude...but that was about all the good attributes I could see.

- Pretty slow feet
- Not great reaction/quickness
- His face up game was so overrated...outside of UNC game...he never was reliable to hit a face up 15 footer. He looked so timid at times...he looked like he was just throwing it at the rim in hopes to not shoot an airball moreso than an adept shooter.
- As far as post game..he had a halfway reliable baby hook but nothing much else. Very weak in terms of power move and finishing thru contact.

I'd have loved to see him be our backup C and grow the next 2 years...but this myth of NBA big man was goofy IMO. UL bigs have more NBA potential than Humphries.

Humphries should've been a freshman last year age wise. He's a better player than most people on here give him credit for. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him in the league in a year or two.

He's still very young, and he does have some upside.

It wouldn't surprise me if he's in the league eventually.

If you can perceive it, you can do it. OT: Who is going to paint that for you? That maybe your biggest threat to living it. Take one of those little blue pills before you do it and you will live in infamy.

Brings memories of what has been said about Jorts. (aka: Josh Harrellson)

Someone please save this because I give a Hump a 60% chance to lay in the NBA in the next 5 years.

Good for The Hump. His play against UNC was legendary. Sadly that was about the extent of it that I will remember other than the bounced ball against A&M.

He did have that : if Hump scores UK wins going until the last game. I can see him getting at least one min of playing time in the NBA.

Under 20, seven feet tall, not super slow, no major injury issues, and decent mid range shot. I wouldn't rule him out that hard. He could polish up overseas and end up earning a roster spot as a deep bench player in 3-5 years and still be fairly young.
