I know it's a, I'll believe it when I see it, but I have a strong feeling about this game.

In 2006, LSU knocked the Cats down hard. The Cats rebounded and made a bowl for the first time in years and came back and took down LSU in Commonwealth in a game we all may remember.

Is 2017 the year? We came oh so close in 2014 and 15. Last year we came off a bad loss and our QB was not in any shape to be on that field. Plus, Snell had not even begun to become the factor of our offense.

Florida has questions at QB and lost some key people at the draft. After going on the road and stopping the heisman trophy winner, I have no doubt our guys have the mentality it takes to overcome this giant. We have an experienced team that can score points and Florida really is not a high powered offense that can run up and down a field.

If we can get the K-Roger rocking for them, I think it could be a day to remember. I still say florida wins, but I believe we have to win some day and 2017 realistically looks like a year where we are close in our talent and we will have a rocking atmosphere behind the guys.

I watched some of Florida's spring game this year and I thought Feleipe Franks looked really good, of course he doesn't have a lot of experience but he has all the tools IMO. They have another freshmen I didn't see but he's suppose to be good also. Don't see Del Rio or Applewhite returning as the starter. The loose some defensive talent but I think Florida will still be a very good team.

Having said that I am more optimistic about this years CATS then I have been since this time in 2007. I think we are capable of competing with everyone on our schedule this year so it should be a fun season.

I'm going to make sure of it...

Have said for a long time now I will believe it when I see the final scoreboard showing KY winning. That said, I think this team is mature enough now to take last year's whipping personal and think they have something for UF when they come to Lexington. Really believe (in KY Football terms) this is a special season coming up and beating UF will be the headliner.

The FL defense will be even better up front this year. They have a tremendous amount of speed at DE and an edge rush on defense that will cause our tackles problems.

The only way I can see us making a game of it is to run the ball north and south.

Franks looked improved and was able to make some impressive throws in the spring game. UF also has a mobile qb in Kadarius Toney that will see action in spread run/pass option sets.

The UF offensive line looks improved as far as being more aggressive and blocking downhill.

The past two seasons the Gators were more beatable for us than this year. I don't see a win happening.

In all likelihood no. Florida will always be more talented but that doesn't mean they will always be out of reach. The year we beat them next I am expecting UF to be a little more unsettled than they look right now. The best chance was in 2014. We should have had that one. Florida has rebounded since then with better coaching and leadership. It's possible we beat them this year but I wouldn't call it likely.

Not saying that we beat UF this year. But aren't we also much better in coaching, size, speed and strength, healthier and more talented as well?

I am surrounded by Gators and they don't take Kentucky serious anymore. A win is automatic in their pickled brain. So when we beat them at Commonwealth this fall I plan on having a little payback for all of the misery I have endured.

Yes we will take the Gators this year.

If you asked the question 25, 20 years ago the answer would have been: "Sooner or later".

But "sooner" has come and passed. It WILL happen sometime (and almost certainly considered a fluke when it does) but I just don't know when.

Peace

Since ;you are surrounded by Gators have you forgotten your first assignment was to drain the swamp?

I hope you are right, at least we might be within shouting distance of their talent this year.f

I sure agree with that. We are in a drought down here so the water is evaporating fast. The swamp is disappearing day by day.

When we beat them at Commonwealth this fall they will scatter like turkeys

I'm 28 and would like to see it, you know some time in my life. The last several years the Gators were beatable and UK didn't take advantage, maybe this will be the year.

Seeing is believing. I still would rather see us beat Tennessee this year than Florida if I had to choose one. Call me crazy.

Crazy.

Need to get this damn streak off our back. If we can do that and get over .500 in SEC play we'll have taken care of all those bad streaks. UT, S. Carolina (that one a while ago now), Florida..
