Is Mulder in Cal's doghouse?

Mulder has not seen the floor in 4 of the last 5 games and only 4 minutes vs Missou and 2 against Arkansas. What is up with that? Is he just not that good... or is he in the doghouse. My last memory of him playing (forget which game) was Mulder not taking a 3 when he was wide open and then seeing Cal go crazy on the sideline and immediately pulling him out.... that was the last I've seen him in a game...

I find this curios as well. Even Rafterey talked about how good Mulder looks in practice. Floreal, even saw the floor ahead of Mulder today. Curious indeed.

Personally, I believe he could help us. On offense he can hit the 3 ball, and he is a decent rebounder, he is 6-4 or so and is a pretty good athlete.

It looks especially worse since Briscoe is on another one of his awful shooting stretches lately. We really need a wing shooter in the worst way outside of Murray.

I think Cal is more interested in getting a kid to proceed than worrying about Mulder.

He's not playing because there are 4 guys he could play for (Ulis, Murray, Briscoe or Willis) and those are 4 of UK's top 5 players. Briscoe can't shoot but he does a lot more than Mulder does.

Has nothing to do with it......it's Matthews or Mulder......Matthews gets the pt.

Matthews has more length and is better on D. The last 2 losses, Matthews had 5 total points. He got more because AP was out, but it' not like Matthews is getting tons of clock either.

I feel like he should be getting Matthews' minutes, but I trust Cal

Mulder just isn't very good, it's that simple. He bricks every shot he takes which isn't good for a player who is supposedly a dead eye shooter.

When he comes in he doesn't make shots, and for a guy who's rep was making shots, that isn't going to get you PT. 24% overall, 20% from three. Even in the good game he had against LSU, really all he did was grab rebounds. He had his chances, three consecutive games in SEC play of 10+ minutes (averaged 12 minutes a game in the three), and he went 3-for-13 and 2-for-7 from 3.

I think the problem is that Mulder has the skill set of a power forward in a 6'4" body.

He's a good shooter, but he's not a good ball handler, not a good on ball defender, and seems to struggle a bit with the speed of the game at this level.

His rebounding is outstanding for a player his size though.

When I stop and think about it, we probably shouldn't have gotten Mulder. This isn't the place for guys who are unsure in themselves. One of the reasons he went JUCO was he didn't feel like he could compete at the D1 level. Clearly he can, but his confidence is holding hm back. Hopefully he'll be ready for a solid senior season.
