I sure hope so. If not, we might be in for another long weekend.
Let's hope ...11-16 passes completed Saturday night were behind the LOS!I sure hope so. If not, we might be in for another long weekend.
Yes.Funny how most teams can get WR's wide open quite a bit but we struggle with it. Is it coaching, lack of speed, lack of brains or lack of offensive philosophy?
None of the above. It is OL. Doesn't matter what your WRs are doing down field if your OL can't pass block. It is doubly bad that we cannot run block either.Funny how most teams can get WR's wide open quite a bit but we struggle with it. Or lack of an offensive line that can give WRs time to get open.Funny how most teams can get WR's wide open quite a bit but we struggle with it. Is it coaching, lack of speed, lack of brains or lack of offensive philosophy?

The latter for me...we utilize less than half the field. How often do we ATTACK the middle of the field?Funny how most teams can get WR's wide open quite a bit but we struggle with it. Is it coaching, lack of speed, lack of brains or lack of offensive philosophy?
It's not speed. Our WRs have speed to burn. Is it Levis holding on to the ball too long? Sometimes, yes. I think too many of the plays are too slow to develop. I think part of the reason for so many sacks is that Scang has mind-fugged Levis to the point he's either can't decide or is afraid to trust what he's seeing, plus the plays require holding the ball too long to wait for the WR to get open. By the end of last season he was much better than he is this season. Tennessee burns teams with their WR's running deep middle slants about 15-20 yards downfield. The qb has the ball out of his hands in less than two seconds. We've never run a play like that all season. And we have the weapons to do it.Yes.
It's Levis. Holds on to the ball too long. Saw a replay last night. WR breaks across the middle. Oline opens up the perfect passing lane and you can see our guy wide open, no EwwTee players near him. Levis bounces on his feet. Bounces again. Bounces a third time. Sets, and throws! But by then 3 EwwTee players surrounded the WR. We were lucky it wasn't picked off again. We can only hope they’re susceptible to one tough RB running behind a shaky OL.I sure hope so. If not, we might be in for another long weekend.
Fair question: At a minimum? I want a OC/OL staff that can coach a college OL to run-block (not a big ask in CFB....most OLs are minimally proficient in run-blocking), AND I want in the passable passing-blocking where I don't have to watch my QB pounded into the ground 12 times per game (sacks plus hits after the throw). We lost the offensivr line coach in the off- season I mean then we lost ol players to the nfl. What ya gonna do...
That was my point. He wasn't holding on to the ball too long in the second half of last season, so what changed? Scang has him thinking too much and reacting too little. How many times this season have we seen Levis successfully scramble like he did last season - Louisville defenders are still having nightmares about it.It's Levis. Holds on to the ball too long. “Trust what he is seeing “ .This has been a MAJOR problem his entire career. It's not speed. Our WRs have speed to burn. Is it Levis holding on to the ball too long? Sometimes, yes.
