Is it just a matter of time before Cal (UK) ...

or some other coach/school (but most likely Cal), puts together "a near perfect class".
Imagine this past year a FR class of:
- Fox or Fultz or Ball or Smith
- Monk
- J.Jackson
- Tatum or Isaac or Bridges
- 2 of Collins or Bam or Markannen or Leaf or Patton or Allen

No misses on players, no Skal's or Braggs' or Giles'.

What would have been the limit of a lineup of Fox, Monk, J.Jackson, Bam, & Markannen (or really any combination of those above)?

Booker, Ulis, Lyles, and Towns were close. Just imagine if they could've had their own time to develop chemistry and added in a Justice Winslow type wing to their group.

Well......that's a big 'ol WHAT IF. And lots of woulda, coulda, shoulda. And some good old fashioned wishful thinking thrown in.

But I dig your style.

At the time on signing day in 2013 it looked like we had done that:
1. Andrew Harrison - #5 Overall (#1 PG)
2. Aaron Harrison - #6 Overall (#1 SG)
3. James Young - #9 Overall (#4 SF but 2 of 3 ranked ahead played PF in college)
4. Julius Randle - #2 Overall (#1 PF)
5. Dakari Johnson - #10 Overall (#1 C)

*per 247 composite rankings

History obviously tell a bit of a different story but you get the point.

But that is my point, that you not necessarily get the top 5 rated at their position, but rather that you get who will wind up being the best 5. That class was close, although Johnson did not reach his expectations, and there was a lot of doubt in the twins (except for Aaron's last second heroics in the tournament).

We're talking about Millennials, though. These kids grew up with parents who did not teach them how to share, how to take accountability, or even how to take a crap in the woods. You can call me jaded, if you like, but most of these kids have zero-to-no interest in sharing the round-ball with other stars. There's not all that many Townses or Devins out there who are looking to sacrifice "theirs" for the good of the Big Blue Brotherhood.

Yeah, I thought we should have spent more time teaching Fox how to crap in the woods all season long.

I think if Dakari would have stayed for last season, that team could have done damage.
