Is dUKe this year our 2013 NIT team?

They look very similar. We had six losses at this point in the season and a major injury. dUKe has 10 games left. Out of the 10 I see 6 games where dUKe has a very good chance of losing. Now if we all know the truth Duke will still get in the tournament with 10+ losses because of the almighty ACC.

If Duke lost the rest of their games, they would be a 16 seed in the tourney. They would then play the 4th number one seed in Charlotte and be the First 16 seed to beat a number one seed and make history. In other words, they will make the Tourney. The NCAA would consider it blasphemy to leave them out.

The big difference is that Jefferson will return, and perhaps be effective. I'll always believe Cal was revving the Cats up for a decent run -- maybe Sweet 16 -- with Nerlens.

They'll get in the tourney with 11 losses and the narrative that they are on the uptick with Jefferson back and their freshmen jelling.

He had 16 points and 15 boards against us and they still got beat by 11.

If they have those additional losses it raises an excellent question. But, they honestly don't look anywhere near as bad as we did after the Noel injury.
