Is De'aaron Fox as fast as John Wall?

Baseline to baseline speed. Eric Bossi noted his "blinding speed" at the Thanksgiving Hoopsfest. Rebound to layup in under 4 seconds. Is that John-Wall-fast?

I'll hang up and listen.

I think he'll be AS fast. However, I do believe he is quicker than Wall at that point in his career. That being said his game is very similar with a more consistent jumper IMO.

Easily . Kid is insane athletically all around . That why is a top 5 draft pick - he has Wall's speed and ball handling but Brandon Knight's shooting . Yeah Cue Kermit .

Easily? Holy hell. You are the biggest homer in the world.

Even if he's not quite as fast he can create his shot. Monk and Fox will be very difficult for ALL opponents

I'll preface this by saying I need to see them play in college but Fox/Monk combo may be Cal's best back court ever. If they both pan out, could be best ever in one year at UK.

I was there for the layup Bossi is talking about, and it's disingenuous to call it 4 seconds. The clock showed hundredths and as soon as he got the ball at 3/4 court there was 3.28 seconds on the clock.

Fox took some plays off and settled on some jumpers, but as soon as he took off you could see world-class acceleration.

In one play he showed why he's Top-5 and Andrew Jones is Top-40.

Funny story. I was watching some highlights of Fox on YouTube and some dumbass said Fox would probably transfer (Not go pro. Transfer) after his freshmen year at UK because we don't fit his style of play and because if our 3 guards were back Fox wouldn't get much PT. LMAO. True story. LMAO. What a dumbass. But yeah. Fox is AS fast as Wall IMO. And I swear I think he can be the better of the two.

LOL. Murray and Briscoe are guaranteed gone. Briscoe is the type of guy, he won't care if he's the last pick of the draft, he's gone. If Ulis does come back.... then it just guarantees us another 3 guard back court and lineup with Ulis, Fox, Monk, Gabriel and Bam...... with SKJ, Humphries, and Matthews being the backups.

I think ulis returns next yr a backcourt of ulis fox and monk would be incredible I'm not sold lee will be gone either but it's early.

Wall put reckless abandon into the mix with his speed. So, who knows? Wall was (is) a spectacle. We have relatives who came to Kentucky from California to see John Wall. I don't think that will happen with Fox.

While Fox may be as fast as Wall, it is the strength of Wall that made him a cut above.

Chipmunks are not as fast as John Wall.

If I had a nickel for every time in the past five years some recruit was supposedly as xxxx as John Wall, Cal would be pointing at -my- face asking who wants to be next.

I think Wall had more tricks in the bag when it came to driving and scoring... but if you had to pick one to shoot a basketball from 17 feet and out, you'd pick Fox every time.

NO ONE is "easily" as fast as John Wall. C'mon...

I'm sure the dude is quick as hell, but no since in that type of exaggeration.

The realistic assessment is that Fox is slightly less physically gifted, probably not as good a creator, but is a better shooter.

Wall is slightly taller than Fox, noticeably longer, probably a better leaper, just as quick, and is the possessor of the type of elite court vision that is rare for any player, but especially for a player with Wall's athletic ability. Fox is pretty elite with all of that stuff, but still behind Wall with the physical part, and no better than equal with the skill part. The one thing he has above Wall is that he's simply a better scorer. He's not a great distance shooter, but he's good enough (better than Wall), and he has a more natural mid-range game than Wall ever had.

IF Fox turns out as well as I hope, then what he could end up as is the mid-point between Wall and Kyrie Irving.

Yeah you are 100% on the creator part. Because of his world class physical gifts everybody forgets that John Wall averaged 6.5 assists per game. That's crazy high for a freshmen.

Fox is quicker than Wall, but end to end Wall is probably a little faster. I wouldn't say that Wall is extremely quick. He is extremely straight line fast though. I would prefer a quick point guard, rather than a fast point guard as you do not get many straight line drives to the hoop.

Splitting hairs though as both are exceptional players.

Keep in mind that bossi has said fox is about as good as a defensive player as he has seen, thats elite as it gets.

This thread and subsequent debate is the very definition of spoiled fan problems.

"Oh crap, Fox isn't as fast as Wall! Wait, he's still faster than every other guard that we play against next season."

Exactly. We'll continue to enjoy being spoiled though!

Wall is one of the fastest players in the NBA. If he end up being wall and knight then we will see 30 ppg lol

Fox is so quick, he can flip the wall light switch off & be in bed before the room goes dark.

how do you figure that he has Brandon Knight shooting ability? His 3 fg% last year was 29 and for his career it's 34. The other night he made 11 shots out of 29 attempts. Knight shot the three at 39% during is junior year of highschool. His career was 40%. He did this while shooting many 3's and averaging over 30 PPG for his CAREER.
