I don't think Cal is ever done recruiting. We only have a spot to fill if everybody goes pro (Ulis, Briscoe, Murray, Poy, Lee, Skal) but I wouldn't be surprised if he continues to recruit Kobi Simmons for that possibility.

This. I think Cal is trying to keep Simmons on the hook in case all 3 guards go pro. I may be wrong, but I suspect one of the two (Ulis or Briscoe) will return next year.

Which, if they did, I would prefer either of them as a sophomore over a freshman every day.

Somebody mentioned it yesterday but with Mulder, Hawkins, and Willis graduating and at least Fox, Monk, Bam, and Gabriel virtual locks to leave after one year we are going to have a boat load of scholarships available in 2017. So i'm relieved Cal is getting an early start.

No, he meant after NEXT year, Mulder, Hawkins and Willis will be graduating.

I think Simmons is still possible in the Spring, and that part of Cal is really intrigued by Thon Maker.

As a complimentary bonus piece, Maker could be fantastic. I don't think it ultimately happens, but that's a name I don't think we can totally take off the board for the spring either.

I hope Cal leaves a couple of schollys open in case somebody from this year's team decides to return or there is an injury. Cal likes to play a short rotation anyway, so there's no need to overload the roster.

Not with Thon Maker still loose.

I would really like to add Simmons. He could be a really important piece as a Sophomore. We are going to lose a lot of players after next year.

Are we still recruiting Thon Maker? I have never been too big of a fan of this kid, but if i'm him and Cal offers, i'm accepting the offer the same day. Next year's team would be a good fit for Thon with Bam and his muscle inside. If Thon's game is to run the floor and be big, next year's team should be great at that part of the game. I think we will have enough big guys for next year so if we take another commit i hope it's at forward or guard.
