No, I'm not saying more talented, by any objective measure of pure basketball skill and athleticism.
But to me, the 2016 team seems much more in the mode of the kinds of teams Cal has always wanted to coach, and that have thrived under his guidance: guard oriented, built to dribble and drive, exceptional transition potential, the skills to hound opponents out from defensively.
I thought Cal did a masterful job in 2015 to win 38 straight games (and please, this is not about the last four minutes of the Wisconsin game.) He made 'platoon' a positive, rather than a dirty word, and kept nine NBA talents reasonably content. But he didn't expect WCS, Dakari and the Harrisons all to return, and was forced to deal with a front-court heavy team with, frankly, one or two too many centers.
I'll bet if we could read his mind, he's very excited about the incoming team.
