Interesting. UK Leads for Another 5-Star Texas Player Along with Fox?

It would be nice to steal Allen away from Texas. Prototypical Cal big. Lengthy, tall, and athletic. In the mold of Davis/WCS/Noel/Lee/Skal (without the shot).

we are big man U. i dont get what is taking some of these kids so long.

we are alos point guard u.

Poor ole Shaka is watching most of the elite Texas talent leaving the state.

So that would be a pretty good lineup. Decent shooting 1-4, and great size and athleticism at every position.

PG - Fox
SG - Monk
SF - Gabriel
PF - Killeya-Jones
C - Allen

We are pretty much set with those three.

Starters
G Fox
G Monk
F Gabriel
F Killeya-Jones
F Allen

Bench
G Hawkins
G Mulder
G Floreal
G Matthews
F Willis
F Wynyard
F Humphries

Good team. The backcourt by itself makes us a contender.

That video makes this guy look like garbage. Shoot Doral Moore's video last year were more impressing than this. No wonder Cal has made extra trips to see Bolden. Getting one of Giles, Bam, or Bolden (in that order) would be awesome. We could definitely manage without one more though. We will have 5 guys over 6'9 next season anyways (Willis, SKJ, Gabriel, Hump, Wynyard). Adding one more would just be icing on the cake.

don't really like either, but I guess UK's gonna have to have a back up to Humphries next year.
Thinking the same thing. Will be nice depth, but don't love either as a player right now. A log of time to grow, though.

Humphries is going to start in 16-17. Even if Kentucky signed Giles, he'd play the 4 and Humphries would start at the 5. Humphries would start over Adebayo.

There is more to basketball than being an athletic freak. Humphries will be the most offensively gifted college 5 in America a year from today.

Your false statement is highlighted. You couldnt be more wrong.

Humphries needs to improve his defense. Right now he is a major liability on that side of the ball. Cal even said so. For him to start, his defense has to catch up to his offense. He may be ready by this time next year, but it remains to be seen. I hope he is ready.

Humphries was rated behind both Allen and Bolden before re-classifying.

Humphries will be much better than most of these guys. I keep forgetting Lumberjack's name, but he'll be good enough back up.

I want GILES!!!!! or BAM

Wait and see, if Kentucky has both, which I doubt, because Adebayo may well stay away because of Humphries.

Humphries will improve his defense. He's athletic enough to guard elite big men -- see his effort against Diamond Stone and Harry Giles in the FIBA games in Qatar. And he's a guy who can facilitate the offense with excellent passing and score in a variety of ways.

The issue is not so much defending other bigs as it is getting beaten on pick and rolls. He has to improve his lateral quickness or teams can pick us apart in man to man because we like to switch. For Humphries to be an effective starter and play tons of minutes he has to be able switch out on quicker players or we have to make sure we never switch screens, which is hard to do when teams pick and roll. The other option, zone, is a Calipari bad word.

Humphries has lots of potential, especially offensively, but he has a long way to go to defend at the high D-1 level. Especially in Cal's defensive system. Cal is flexible offensively, but defensively he is pretty set in his ways. It's man to man or bust.

Allen is a big time prospect and could and yes I'm saying it could be the best big prospect in the class!

both are averaged in the 20-25 range.
Bolden is the best center in High school ( in his class ) . Anyone would be insane not to want that bad boy . Allen is the 3rd or 4th best center and is a top 20 player as well. Both are 1-2 year players at the very most though neither will start over a sophomore Humphries as he is a early first rounder by then . The only guy we are recruiting who could start over him is Bam but he ain't coming here. Some are sooo spoiled on here I tell ya. Bolden and Allen might not be 1st picks of the draft but they are top 20 picks .

When the best center in a class is still regarded as just a fringe top 25 player that says more about how awful the depth at that position is, not necessarily how good that player is just because he's ranked the #1 center.

That's true but I'd also say that it speaks to the high volume of elite guards and forwards in this class. It might be the best class for guards in the last 10 years.

talking about Humphries can't guard the pick an roll, hell Okafor couldn't guard the pick an roll or anything else and he was national champ and the 3rd pick in the draft.

I haven't seen Allen play yet--but his high school will play Jae Ledee's this winter, so it should be an interesting matchup. Good conference for high school ball (Justice Winslow also played in the conference).
