A Boom/Harris backfield would have been unbelievably nasty, but we've still got at least two more years of Stanley Boom Williams. He needs at least 80% of the work next season imo.

I wouldn't trade him for Harris. Boom proved himself against SEC competition.

I'm still plenty fine with our backfield. Boom is/should be our starter, he's an outstanding back, and has proven himself as much as any freshman running back in the country with the amount of carries he's had.
I would put Horton as second string.

Not just Boom guys, I think you'll see a big step up from a soph Horton and senior Heard as well. And Jo Jo is always there. I'm not a, "we didn't need Harris anyway" guy, but for next year I really believe we are just fine and then some. Remember the talent level all of these guys had coming in and see what happens with a second year in the program.

Just have to get the OL to step up and be an angry unit and I really an not worried about next year at RB at all with or without Harris.

I'll even admit the biggest reason I wanted him was for the recruiting jolt it would have given us and that's the biggest let down, but it didn't take long to remember the guys we have back and I'm absolutely excited about them.

We are not hurting at the running back position. Damien would have been the cherry on top. Now if he was a 5 star offensive lineman....then I would be very disappointed.

This is the SEC, have to have depth. UK has 5 RBs and there's been many years UK has gone thru 5 RBs in a breeze. Plus Heard and Clemons are srs. Leaves 3 experienced backs for '16. So UK must try to find a back now or 2 for '16. Make no mistake, losing a 5* RB 15 minutes from your campus is a blow. But it is what it is, UK has a long way to go filling out this recruiting class.

AJ I was on an iPhone and we probably started typing at the same time...just took me longer, but it seems that we are on the same mind set lol.

Anyone else that thinks Boom really goes BOOM this year, like he started doing last year? He has certainly proven he can play in the SEC. I think Heard was even more highly rated coming out of high school, and shouldn't all of our backs look better with an improved OL-----and I don't doubt that we will be improved, four of them returning that have worked together for a while, with severa other RS freshmen with experience and new highly regarded redshirts adding depth next year, with maybe some real surprises among the 2nd and third year guys.

Not to mention the improvement in the QB play we should expect, whoever it is. And don't we have ALL or our WRs eaxcept one returning with two from injuries and a couple of redshirts, with two new TEs that can catch the ball? ALL of the positions improving would make the individual positions look more improved also, the whole is equal to MORE than the sum of its parts.

Looks like we should try to get a replacement for Heard and Clemons in the 16 class, maybe a five star since we fought off Michigan for our top recruiter, or maybe a good one this year so he can get some experience, but not that critical for this year, probably should concentrate on another good LB or some other position of need..

Oh, heard a rumor that Bama just got a commit from their sixth five star in this class, three since the first of the year, has anyone heard who it was or where he came from?

Boom is one of the best backs in the SEC..who cares about Harris..let him go ride the bench at Alabama where no one will even know his name

Heard looked great against weaker teams last year but slowed a bunch against sec. Do you think that was mostly him or that the OL just couldn't handle the sec?

Boom is a very good rb. We need depth at the position, more who can play like Boom.

If that happens, he obviously was not going to help UK, or OSU either.

Funny, I doubt that happens though.

Exactly. This didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would, actually.
