Who was the guy who committed to Kansas but pretended to commit to Illinois first a few years back? Someone had video of some Illinois fans watching it live. Absolutely hilarious. They went from cheering to cursing and giving the middle finger to the TV in a matter of seconds.
This is the type player I wish Cal would recruit more of, talented, unselfish, and would stay around more than 1 season !

He's cutting his list to 5 today supposedly.. Don't sound like UK will make the cut being we've not visited yet,, dead period I think? And other teams have already offered him a ride.. Michigan State,Illinois, Ohio State and Butler are 4 supposedly certainties.. Fifth team is between Kentucky, Kansas, and Missouri..

I think 2018 is a team where we will have the talent to go out and make a run, maybe not the favorites but have a lot of talent.
I think this team is building some players to stay 2-3 year. Smith is the perfect guy we need. He's long, versatile, and can shoot. I think he has kind of a Liggins/Miller type of game, because remember they were scoring guards coming in their first season.
I love the fact that he's a multiple sport stud. Anyone who can be a D1 player in 1 sport, and then pick up another sport and become a top player in the nation in a matter of a year is a SPECIAL athlete.

Hopefully the Cats can sign this young man or maybe the Pitt transfer. BTW, would the Pitt player be eligible this season or would he have to sit out a year? We need a shooter in this class.
We need this kid. We have one title without an Illinois kid on the roster. Seven of eight had at least one Illinois kid.

Plus, an Illinois kid has been the best player on the last three UK title teams: Davis in '12; Mohammed in '98; Walker in '96.
I live up here in Illinois. They exist, but they've realized their definitely not a top 15 program. Took them about 25 years to realize that though.
