Knox's ceiling is much higher than Bamba...I've been on the Knox since day one....if UK, got Bamba it was a bonus...

Just stop, the answering yourself doesn't bother me as much as the "Knox has more potential and will be better than Bamba" crap.

Bamba is a freak and will be drafted at the top in next year's draft, but with Knox, it's not like we're talking about a kid that doesn't have talent. Knox is the type of kid we needed so bad for next season. He is the type of talent that when you need a basket, you give him the ball and let him work. He will be Kentucky's go to scorer. Bamba would have been nice, but without Knox, i don't think Kentucky would have a go to player on offense. Without Bamba, we all know we have length, height and size in our frontcourt with SKJ, Richards, Gabriel and Washington. We have a player somewhat like Bamba in our current frontcourt, we don't have a player like Knox on our roster. Knox signing with Kentucky is huge and will mean a lot to our tourney run next season. I don't know where Cal decides to play Knox, but the kid can score the ball with the best of them and should be one of the hardest guys to guard in college basketball. We will be fine without Bamba. Without Knox, Kentucky would be screwed. We all know this to be true.

Typical blue tinted glasses comment. We lost a key recruit and I don't want to hear about how Richards is just as good as Bamba or the fact that we landed Knox somehow compensates for it. We need a rim protector, something we've lacked the past couple years. We don't have a great one next season, so live with it and suck it up.

Jarred Carter got a 5th yr eligibility, look out

I hope he stinks it up at Texas.I'm not going to wish a player who spurns UK to do great at another school.

Neither will I. Bamba apparently has this delusion that he is a 4, but he'll find out that he isn't, never will be, and now he won't play fore a team with a ghost of a chance at an NCAA title. Three cheers for his decision to attend UT.

UT didn't sell him on the 4, he just likes Shaka more than U.K.

I do agree that Knox is the bigger need for the team if Diallo leaves. At least we have Nick and SKJ to play the 5.Shai or Baker would be all we had at the 2 without Knox.I like them both but we need Shai to back up Green and I don't think Baker is ready to start.

I'm not sure that there is more potential in Knox but there is definitely more "want to" in Knox. He chose UK because he wants to be challenged, he wants to get better, he wants to practice against the best, he wants to be pushed.

Bamba is a freak of an athlete & has great potential; however he'll never reach his potential if he takes the easy path. I honestly think Diallo scared him off when he told him "don't come here unless you really want to work and really want to get better". Sure he'll get better at Texas & he'll work hard at Texas but in all seriousness it is an easier path. UK isn't for everyone!

Give me the kid that has the "want to", "the drive" any day of the week! I think from what Knox has said that's what we have in him.

Maybe so, but let's not guild the lilly. This was a major recruiting setback. Could we win #9 without Bamba? Sure we can, but it just got much tougher for us. Still, I would rather have our roster than any other school's, and that's with or without Diallo.

If Jones or Richards can be a rim protector, he won't be missed but the lack of defense intensity early with true freshmen is usually not at its highest so having someone to clean up the mistakes of the guards is nice, as we saw with several of our past centers.

Knox was the bigger need. Bamba will have a Noel-like freshman season, then he's on to the league. Bamba is not Anthony Davis......not even close.

Yep I agree with everyone here Knox was the bigger need. 10 foot wingspan big man not a need.

Our 7th - 3/4 tweener who thinks he's a point guard was the much better need.

This is an example of a super unpopular post that will in all likelihood cause problems.
