If You Voted, Where Would You put UK in The Next AP Poll?

Top 8 depending on how some other teams do, still green and need improvement but have the ability to beat anybody when they all come to play.

Definitely top 10 still. But I don't really care to be honest. I almost hope voters drop the Cats pretty far. I want to see these guys fully motivated.

Right now, we are an average contender, maybe 10. Very young and haven't found the chemistry a top 5 team must have. A lot of room for Skal, Murray and Matthews to get better.

The real voters will or should vote based on their current opinion of Skal. Our pre-season ranking at 2 was based
on this idea that Skal was a top 3 NBA pick maybe the overall #1. Now that that idea has been exposed a bit, their votes most likely will be revised down a bit. If Skal's play doesn't improve then we will go further down as more losses occur. But if he does improve then not too many losses will occur and we will hang in the top 10. It's possible UK may ultimately be a 3-5 seed not a 1 or 2. It would help if Tyler gets back to 100% soon. The gauntlet has been thrown down. Let's see how they respond. Someone or more than one will have to step up going forward. Still like our team

The voters are going to over analyze the loss to UCLA thanks to their being blown out by KU and beaten by two weak opponents. So I'm guessing UK will fall as far as 7-8.

However, since the question here is what would I do if I were a voter, I'd say a fair drop would be down to 5th or 6th, unless another team close behind drops one as well, at which point a safe spot would be 4th-ish.

Won't happen.....Duke has improved greatly?
Duke will be in top 5......and deserve it.

Really, since UK they beat VCU by 8, Georgetown by 2, Yale, Utah St. and Iniana (no D)... You consider that as greatly improved? That doesn't necessarily scream improved.

Like BlueBomb says...CATS should be 1 spot ahead of Duke. But like you say...Won't happen.

unc*** was dropped from 1st to 9th after losing to UNI. It was also recognized that Paige was out with injury. If the voters take this game (Ulis not 100%, Lee injured) into the same consideration as they did that one, and add in the UCLA is perhaps(?) a better team, then UK should fall - at worst -to 8.
I think 7-10 range is fair - although dropping farther than that wouldn't surprise me, nor would only losing 2-3 spots.

Without looking at the top teams (records and opponents), I'd say around 5 or 6.

Why? Still have the 1 really good & convincing win. Circumstances of Lee and Ulis last night have to at least be considered. And I'm not rewarding mediocre teams who might be undefeated, but haven't played anyone yet.

This would be my Top 15:

1. Michigan State
2. Oklahoma
3. Kansas
4. North Carolina
5. Xavier
6. Kentucky
7. Duke
8. Vanderbilt
9. Purdue
10. Iowa State
11. Maryland
12. Villanova
13. West Virginia
14. Oregon
15. Gonzaga

I think Mich St. UNC, Kansas, Purdue, Duke, Iowa St, Oklahoma, and Villanova will be above us.

I think UK will and should be in the 8-9 range

1--Mich State
2--Kansas
3--Maryland
4--Kentucky
5--Duke
6--North Carolina
7--Iowa State
8--Villanova

Another like UCLA and Ill St will take us to the 10 area

If Lee had been able to stay in game and Ulis had not been injured I believe we would have won last night

I have watched many of Duke's games our game. They have played with much energy
each game while we seem to sleep walk. Kennard has come along very good and Ingram is hitting 3's often and playing like he was expected to ...I'm not just comparing scores, I have seen every UK game and most of Duke's. Currently Duke's effort exceeds ours........and it's not close.
