And starting over. Do you take Rondo in his prime or John Wall in his?

I'm choosing Wall even though Rondo is my favorite Cat/ player.

Wall. Mainly because of Rondo's rep as difficult to get along with. Also not sure we've seen Wall in his prime yet.

To start a team? Wall definitely. Starting a team with Rondo would be a disaster unless you let Rondo run the whole operation by himself.

I agree about Wall not being in his prime yet. Good point, that makes my question not very good anymore. Thanks. Haha.

Wall isn't in his prime yet, but I would take this year's version of Wall ahead of any season Rondo has had, simply because he's a better player.

The things Rondo did well--defend, control tempo, set up the spacing of the floor, move guys to spots to succeed, and find the right guy at the right time--Wall does as well or better now. He's bigger, he's faster, he's stronger, hell he shoots it better. He's also a good leader and face of your franchise.

You put this John Wall on those Celtics teams, and that's a three-peat caliber squad.

Agree. That wouldn't even have been fair.

Wall. He's already a top 6 point guard in a point guard heavy league. He's just reaching his prime years now. Will be a top 5-6 point guard for the foreseeable future.

Also, Wall has pretty much done this already. Washington was in a terrible situation when he got drafted there. Not that the Celtics weren't good when Rondo got there, but that resurgence was more to do with the big 3 with Rondo playing a very good role on those teams.

This team was built around Wall and will only get better.

I love Rondo's game... but Wall.

His outside shot isn't great, but on average throughout his career it's been better than Rondo's and I think it will get better. He's a much better free throw shooter. Rondo's main strength is his speed and passing, which Wall is pretty good at as well. And Wall's teammates, coaches, and fans don't want to strangle him-- the same really can't be said for Rondo throughout his playing career.

lol....didn't mean it that way. I'd take Wall up to this point vs. Rondo in his prime. When Wall hits his prime and gets some really good players around him.....look out.

My thoughts exactly.

Wall

Rondo would be about 458th on my list if I were starting a team.
