If we lose in the SEC tourny, do we still get the overall #1 seed?

i would say yes
if it is in the championship game then it is 100% yes, because the brackets are done before the SEC championship game is finished

Absolutely. We can lose our first game and still get a one. We could lose the next two we play and still get a one. We won't lose our next two.

If it's in the finals, then yes. They said last year that nothing that happened on that Sunday played any part in their decisions. But I think we would even if we lose on Saturday.

Virginia has just one loss on the season, that being to Duke. If Virginia wins out (tomorrow in the chum bucket, ACC tourney champs), I think the committee will be tempted to give them the #1 seed if we fail to win the SEC tournament.

The only way we lose the overall #1 seed is if we lose tomorrow and in the SEC tourney. If we win tomorrow, it won't matter what happens in the SECT. If we lose tomorrow (ain't gonna happen), we would need to win the SECT imho to keep the overall #1.

However, regardless what happens tomorrow and in Nashville, we will be a #1 seed.

No matter what happens, Doooks bracket will look like the overall #1 seed bracket should.

I don't disagree with this and probably should happen since we will not play a team the caliber of Duke. But I think we have established the perception of best team in the country and a slip up in the tourney is not considered as bad, IMO.

I think it would depend on what the other potential 1 seeds do. Do need to win today, or if we come out with a loss, need at least 2 games in the SECT to keep the 1. The NCAA has said repeatedly it doesn't matter what happens with the Sunday games (unless a team not even on the bubble wins the conference tourney) Seeds are pretty much set Saturday night/early Sunday

Now - what I would love to see in the ACCT is someone like NCState come up and win the whole thing

No doubt.

Sadly possible.

I wonder if Lunardi would have Wisconsin as UVA's #2 in this scenario? Geography would be as close as it gets to UK…..however I betcha it would change the #2 seed. Cal was right when he said he guaranteed UK would be given the toughest path regardless of seed.

Our overall body of work throughout the season basically means we get the top seed in the tournament. Even if we lose in the SEC Tournament, we get it because the committee will have pretty much determined who the 4 #1 seeds will be for the most part.
