If we can add Johnson and bamba

Green/Alexander
Diallo/Baker
Vanderbilt/Diallo/Washington
Washington/Vanderbilt/bamba
Bamba/Richards

I intentially left Johnson off just to see where others think he would fill in. Hard not to see Vando and Washington starting. Diallo is a lock for the 2 spot.

I think he's good enough to start at the 3. He averaged double figures scoring while shooting 41% from 3. Above average athlete as well with good size. He's proven to be an effective player in a major conference in D1 basketball. If he's not already good defense Cal could make him be good at defense. If he doesn't start he's the first guy off the bench for either Diallo at the 2 or Vanderbilt at the 3.

As good as these freshmen might be, they are still unproven at this level.

You also left of all of our returning players. Or was there a mass-NBA announcement I missed?

Hopefully we can keep Brad and Johnny David.

Damn you are right. Got way ahead of myself. Add Gabriel and Jones to the list for possible PT. Damn we would be loaded.

I'm the one that made the comment about Johnson's DEF. Stallings had him playing against the other teams best 3 or 4 every night. He frequently kept Cam in the game even when his shot wasn't falling due to his DEF, he stated. He led the team in steals. Managed 4.5rpg with 2 SR bigs ahead of him in the lineup that both scored 18ppg and played over 30mpg.

I agree that Vanderbilt is a heck of a player, but Johnson would start at the 3 from the moment he commits due to his experience, DEF, and shooting.

Not sure about preseason #1. I think there are a few teams I would put ahead of us, depending on who comes back and/or who they sign.

With Bamba and Johnson we will be pretty good, though.

I think our rotation ends up looking something like this by season's end:

Starters

G Green
G Diallo
G Johnson
F Gabriel
F Bamba

Key Reserves (in order of importance, so to speak)

F Vanderbilt
F Richards
F Washington
G Alexander

Baker and Wynyard play sparingly.

I would start Johnson and Gabriel for experience and shooting. Still, Vanderbilt and Washington will get their fair share of minutes, too.

If Louisville loses Mitchell, there really isn't an overwhelming favorite next season. I'd like our chances against anyone
