Absolutely. Skal is now the Rivals #1 prospect with Briscoe #10 and Matthews #48. Diallo #5. We would drop LSU like the Reds coach drops f-bombs.
I'd think Duke is preseason no.1 with Ingram. At least that way we'll get to hear all year K is ruining CBB with OADs. (dws)
Even if Ingram goes to Duke, UK will still be number 1. Add Murray to Diallo and it isn't even a question
Dialo will probably pick st johns. Just the way this season of recruiting has been. But, I look for us to get Murray, Mulder, and please don't forget about "Downtown" Brown! Newman to Miss St gives me a more of a reason to believe we could roll a 7 and get Brown.
UK would still need another big. Hopefully a moose big that out works everyone like Diallo does.
What I find somewhat encouraging, is there hasn't been a lot of talk about Ebuka Izundu. We all know that we need another big man, and if the staff was worried about Diallo than maybe they would
Maybe the staff confidence is high for Diallo, considering the talk has kind of died down on Ebuka Izundu.
Duke should be pre-season # 1, no question. I would gladly give it to them, it has been a bad luck charm for UK the past 2 seasons. Even when we won the NC in 2012, UNC was pre-season # 1, so give it to the Dookies !
are people joking around? Duke is going to be a shell of itself next season, even if it lands Ingram.
Last year, we just an insane amount of talent, but it had areas that teams figured out how to exploit. The talent was enough to get to the FF, but we just ran into a team with revenge on its mind and was good enough to take advantage and exploit some things. If we get Murray, Diallo and Mulder to go with the other 3, and Poythress comes back healthy and focused, that will be another stacked team with some strengths of its own that this last team may not have had. I will be extremely excited if we get those guys.
Guess who else won't be nearly as good next season ? But, that may well be a good thing......less pressure !
Even if Ingram goes to Duke, if we land Diallo, we're going to be #1. You're talking about two teams returning roughly the same amount of talent (maybe slightly favoring Duke). Then you're talking about UK bringing in #1, #5, & #10 (and if we land Jamal Murray you can add another top 10-15 player to the mix) plus the #48 player and one of the top JuCo players if we land Mulder vs. Duke bringing in #4 if they land Ingram, #14, #16, #25, and an unranked 3-star center.
That being said, I agree with an above poster that I'd rather not be #1 this year. Be nice to fly under the radar at #3 to #4 all year so we play with a chip on our shoulders.
I agree 100%, flying under the radar is great by me! I also hope we get an early loss. I'm sure some with disagree.
If we get Diallo we will have the #1 recruiting class again. If we get Diallo, Murray and Mulder we will be pre-season #1 again. No doubt about it.
To be pre-season #1 I think UK needs to land Diallo, Mulder and Murray. Add 2 of those 3, and we're either #1 or #2..
I'm with the camp of giving pre-season #1 to Duke or someone else as it hasn't done us a bit of good the past couple of seasons to have that honor. It's most definitely where you are in April that really counts and I would gladly take a lower ranking at the start to be #1 at the end. Having said that, if we add Diallo, Murray, and Mulder then it might be tough to see us not be in the running for pre-season #1 but that's a lot of ifs still.
Duke has Kennard, Jeter, a reclassified Thornton and possibly Ingram. They should be #1
Those freshmen/transfers aren't nearly as elite as Okafor, Jones, and Winslow. And Duke is going to be in a similar position where it lacks quality depth.
I think Duke will be a top ten team, but #1 is a stretch.
Top 3 (?) with Diallo. But who cares about preseason. After last year, I'd like a little less pressure.
UK has TWO recruits ranked higher than all of those 3 (minus Ingram who hasn't picked yet).
