As the worst call in the history of CWS. And I have been a season ticket holder or student for damn near every game. How in the world a moon pie punt of a pass that two or three DBs could have caught can be called PI is absolutely mind boggling. Was the defender that got called ten or fifteen yards from the interception? Seemed so at the stadium.

But, the good guys won, so I am going to bed happy.

Agree with what Matt Jones said on the post-game show... Old Kentucky gives up a TD there. New Kentucky blows up Matty Mauk for a 5 yard sack next play.

Questionable I thought but I'm not up on the pass interference rules in college football.
Not to play the bad guy here but the PI call on them that kept our drive alive was questionable too. At least I didn't see it on the replay. I'll take it though.

Probably the worst PI call in history. And there were at least a dozen other calls that were almost as bad. Not to mention the missed holding calls on Misouri's OL on almost every pass play. This crew needs to be disciplined and let go.

Agree it was a questionable call, especially since it came so late. But it was just a run of the mill bad call, not an all timer.

If it had been our wr we would have lost our ever loving minds if it weren't called. McClain basically tackled him, you are going to get that called more often than not. I have seen worse.

I don't ever blame refs or anything, but they were blatantly holding us on every play. We got away with it a few times but they did it all freaking game.

The no call on the Mizzou lineman retaliation hit out of bounds bordered on "the fix is in".

They were blatantly holding on 2/3 plays in the first half. They got called for it early in the 2nd half and seemed to back off.

My issue is this...be consistent. If you want to say that was PI tonight when our guy kinda prevented the guy from getting back to the lameduck underthrown ball..then last game against FL that 4th and 27 play when they shielded/shoved our guy down sure as hell was. I hate SEC Refs.

Probably the worst overall officiating I have seen at this level. I believe you never blame a loss on the ref. I'm glad we won because it would have been really hard not to put it on the zebras when they take that many points off the board. Not 1 single flag in the first half against Mizzou and they were blatantly holding on many plays. You just have to wonder how a crew at this level can be that bad.

I don't get the poster that agreed with the call.. he really didnt even touch him, go back and watch the replay.. if anything, the offense pushe'd our guy trying to get back to the horrible uncatchable pass

Who cares really? We won.
Its been clear for decades that SEC officials hate UK in both football and basketball.
We rarely receive the benefit of calls even at home.
Its a travesty but I think its ultimately because Ky was a border state.
Take it for what its worth.
That and the fact that Rupp and the NCAA had their share of "differing" opinions.
The real controversy is how does it get changed?

He never turned to look back for the pass its called face guarding and is a penalty.

He actually turned at the last second and that should nullify the PI call. Doesn't matter when you turn as long as you do. And if that IS a PI then the dropped pass against Florida by baker was a PI against Hargraves. He ran into baker without looking back but fell and baker should have caught it and there wasn't a call. So it's a bad call. If he overthrew the receiver as much as he under threw him, it would have been deemed uncatchable. Period.

Wrong on 2 accounts..

He did turn and look and there is no such rule in college football anymore. You can guard the face all you want, just don't make contacr

I bet AJ Stamps cares.

And wow, that's a really bad take. Kentucky football in 2015 is getting poor officiating because Kentucky was a border state in the civil war. Sometimes I really find myself wondering if you're 12.

It was at the end of the Florida game.

The strangest thing about the non call is the ref looked back at their huddle to get the guy's number.

On the pick 6, they never give those calls on balls thrown that poorly.

This was the worst called game I've ever seen in my 36 years. And it's not even close.
On that particular play. Their second receiver wasn't even close. Refs hosed us on every one of our big plays

Actually the refs failed to call many holding calls on Missouri and Kentucky. This crew needs to be evaluated and disciplined.

They try harder.

Nah, he is 13

Anybody remember the earlier PI call against us where their receiver was standing out of bounds? On replay, it didn't look like we forced him out.

Edit: Think it was on the possession following Conrad's TD.

I still am baffled why the refs didn't call a personal foul on the Missouri OL player that knocked Ware down when he was out of bounds after the late hit on Mauk. That was a free cheap shot.

Did anybody notice the UK player with a sack tap on the Mizzou coach/helper? I think it was Forrest, but I hope that never happens again.

A ball thrown that badly has to immediately be ruled uncatchable. Which eliminates a PI call for the defense and allows for some contact between the DB and WR. And here's why. It normal for the WR to make movements, in an effort to catch an uncatchable pass, that may cause unintentional contact by the DB to occur. However, b/c the pass is uncatchable by the WR, the contact made during the futile attempt to catch such a pass produces no advantage for the defense. Hence no penalty. Textbook example of this in last night's game

Well to begin with, it wasn't a late hit on Mauk. His foot was not down out of bound when pushed. Last foot on ground before hit was in play.

It could have been called defensive holding, I guess. But there were two db's between the receiver and the ball and it was under thrown by 10 yards. If the receiver could have even gotten his hands on the ball it would have been the greatest feat a football field has ever seen.

In all honesty, I thought it was pretty similar to the last play with Timmons in the Florida game.

Multiple db's in area - check
WR trying to come back on a ball under thrown by 10 yards - check
Lots of contact made by a db that didn't end up making the int - check
Florida on the defender's jersey - ......errrrrrrr, uhhhhhh, ummmmm

If You gonna call it in the game last night on a desperation play early in the 4th then you gotta call it a week ago in a desperation play on 4th and 22. But of course they wont. We're Kentucky.

Just when you think you have seen it all on a message board. Wow.

PI should never be called when if you take all 20 other players off the field and it's just the QB and WR and the WR would have absolutely 0% chance of even touching the ball. It was really bad but the important part is the defense didn't allow a TD after it.

I sure am glad we were playing another border state last night, otherwise we wouldn't have got that PI call in the 4th quarter.

I have watched UK get hosed by the officials in football for the last 25 years. Until Vegas starts putting more stock in UK and the money starts favoring us.......the calls will continue to favor the money teams. Not saying that all of the refs are on the take, but it is naive to think that none of them are.
