I think Vanderbilt takes Maui

I'm at work but I just saw that it's currently 34-11...ouch! Interesting matchup with Indiana tomorrow night should the Hoosiers take care of Wake Forest later.

Vandy is beating St. John's like they owe them money

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Hard to tell much from this game.... St. John's is 3-0 but best win is Rutgers (KP: 210). Hope we come out with a strong first four minutes of the second and then start thinking about getting guys action before (probably) Indiana.

I would rather play St. Johns than Boston U tomorrow.

Well, of course. They'd be exhausted from playing today and then flying from Maui to Lexington. (;

This isn't the NCAA tourney so I doubt Rock Chawk Choke Hawk chokes Maui away. Also choke hawk is on the easier side of the bracket as they get Chaminade in game one and then either UCLA or UNLV tomorrow.

Yeah.. Vandy looks good and to that point St. Johns, looks awful!
Thats because they are awful. They got blown out 90-58 by Saint Thomas Aquinas in the pre-season. I feel bad for Slice, he's in for a long year. Also this post isn't meant to take anything away from Vandy. They might be good this year, I havent seen them yet.

Vandy has 4-5 guys that could shoot over 40 percent on threes at a high volume, plus jones. I think they have a very legit chance at making a deep run this year.

Vandy's offense is always so fun to watch. The spacing, ball movement, shooting, no over dribbling. Love watching Stallings' teams run offense. Problem is... he'll never recruit at a high enough level to make a deep run IMO. This would be a good year to do it.

I'm actually glad Stallings can't recruit well enough to contend for titles. The dude is a great coach and it's scary to think what this man could do if he had the elite talent to coach up. He would probably be considered one of the best in the game if the man could recruit like one of the big boys. Like you said, they sure are fun to watch when they are on.

Tomorrow'a Vandy IU ( assuming they get past Wake) should be fun to watch. Both teams have lots of shooters.
I'll pull for Vandy, because I'm not insane ( or a Crean fan).

I'm a cat fan stuck in the land of Hoosiers and some of thier fans... One of them signs my paychecks so I have to remain civil when they lose.

The Commodores will now face the winner of the Wake Forest/Indiana game at 6:30 p.m. CT Tuesday in Game 7 of the tournament.

I look forward to Vandy-IU (if IU can beat Wake[winking]).

Kansas cannot beat Vandy. They have a good chance of winning Maui. Their outside shooters are money.

Vandy has an excellent team and may well win this Tourney.
However, I do have to point out that St. John's is awful. They lost to St. Thomas Aquinas in an exhibition game by 32 points. So I can't say I'm surprised that Vandy squashed them.

Also choke hawk is on the easier side of the bracket as they get Chaminade in game one and then either UCLA or UNLV tomorrow.

KU should be ashamed if they don't make it to the title game of this tournament.

I want to see Vandy vs Indiana .... should be a real high scoring game

I don't think Wake can keep up for a full 40 minutes, but they're hanging in so far. If I'm right, tomorrow would be the first of two very likely to be high scoring games in 8 days for IU (they play at Duke next Wednesday).

Perhaps...but KU is team turmoil right now. Between the Diallo distraction and the Greene fiasco, they and their fans appear to be in an uproar. Couple that with a weak inside game and no reliable PG and you have the makings of a difficult year. That said, they could turn it around completely and have a final four run. The winds of college basketball success can be fickle.

Wake has 11 first half TOs and still leads IU by 5 at the half. Clean up the TOs and they should cruise.

Well UCLA did lose two of their three better players from last year's team which barely made the NCAA Tourney and this year's bunch has already lost to Monmouth. UNLV, they haven't played anybody yet (although I see Cal Poly played them close) and I have yet to see a Dave Rice coached team play up to its potential based upon their recruiting classes. KU should be able to handle those teams even with the current turmoil. Their season outlook, however, is a much different story, especially if they don't have Diallo. Could still win the Big 12, but their chances at a deep tourney run obviously wouldn't be as good. I actually think Frank Mason is fine at point guard, but the likes of Landen Lucas, Jamari Traylor and Hunter Mickelson won't scare anybody down low. Carlton Bragg would need to grow up in a big way.

On another note, I know it's only a half, but Indiana's defense looks as bad as ever.

Wake Forest takes the lead. Bryant Crawford with a very nice shot. Just 3.2 seconds left in the game. Timeout IU
