I think the other four play better with him in the game . Tremendous upside . I frankly think he should b like Oscar and Wallace and only come out when he has to .
Also move Wallace to point and have him play it thirty Minutes a game with Reeves at the 2 spot . Let Wheeler come in five minutes a half moving Wallace to the 2 spot .
IMHO that’s by far the best team we can field in March .

Play a Zone a couple of minutes each half . AND ALL PLAYERS SHOOT A MINIMUM OF 100 free throws interspaced with running sprints between each ten with the rest of the team screaming and waiving at them for each shot .
Cal makes 8 million a year and I’m showing him how to make an NCAA run for free.
Happy new year to all on this board .

Wheeler playing 39 minutes is the all time head scratcher ever.
He definitely played too much today. Why not give some of those minutes to Thiero and Reeves? Both need the experience and Wallace needs more time at PG.

We had control of the game the entire game, why not use that game to get better? It baffles me.

Same. He played Wallace extended minutes against that terrible Florida mid major. He had 27 points and 9 assists. He hasn’t really played him at the point since. Unreal.

It’s really weird. Cal plays Livingston exclusively at the 3, presumably because that’s his NBA position, yet he rarely plays Wallace at the 1 even though that is his NBA position. It makes no sense to me.

I think Reeves ended up playing most of the second half while Livingston sat the bench. I think Cal really wanted to see Reeves get going but he didn't do much. If he keeps being inconsistent, we may need to shift more of his minutes to Thiero (along with keeping Livingston in the game for heavy minutes).

I’ve said it all year, he fits in the team perfectly. Obviously if Toppin plays like he did he has to play but both deserve minutes. Chris seems to be getting more scoring confidence lately.

Yeah it's a damn shame he's doing this. How can he not see Livingston is a natural 4 and Wallace needs time at point? That alone makes me not want to watch because we will never know how good we can really be.

It's evident as **** why most of you all draw unemployment or disability instead of coaching basketball for a living.

Wallace isn't a pg. Running him at PG for long isn't going to net the outcome you're hoping for. He is a scoring guard who isn't very fast and is a bit turnover prone when asked to run the offense. He also struggles beating his man off the dribble routinely - particularly against faster players.

Wheeler is a little too fast at times, but he knows the position, can generally get wherever he wants on the floor and can break just about anyone down off the dribble. His size is his issue, but we make up for that at every other position. Not to mention, when you sit Wheeler for Reeves or Fredrick, you see a massive drop defensively. Wheeler is also shooting 39% from 3 on the season on over 30 attempts. So he had obviously worked on the other weaknesses in his game.

The person that should be backing up Wheeler is Thiero. He was a pg in high school, andd he is a mis-match for most teams because of his size.

Sahvir Wheeler has always been the problem. Until he gets moved to the bench, we are fighting an uphill battle.

If Calipari had a crystal ball or Time Machine that showed him the future, and with Wallace running point 30+ minutes per game and Livingston at the 4, 30+ minutes per game, and the result was a FF and Championship, he’d still play Wheeler and Toppin as much as he is now.

Dude’s priorities ARE NOT UK priorities. Anyone with 2 brain cells on active duty knows this.

The x factor with Livingston at the 4 is whether or not he's onboard with playing the 4.
Cal recruited him to UK with the pitch of being like Devin Booker.
Plus Chris himself stated he's always played the 3.
The days of a coach telling a player" you play where i tell you or you sit the bench" are over.
As far as Wheeler goes, he below the UK standard for a pg but he's the best we have.
Fredrick and Reeves are simply not better players and are definately not the competitors that Wheeler is.
Have zero confidence that Reeves will deliver Sat. @ Bama. I know that at least Savir is a gamer and he will compete his ass off even if he makes mistakes.

But these players were recruited by this coach. So now we add the inability to judge talent to the rest of his shortcomings.

I still can’t believe that was the pitch Cal went with . I mean it worked to get him here but no way did he see using Livingston that way lol

Exactly what I said yesterday. We really did very little yesterday to make ourselves better and improve the players. And it would have been the perfect game to do so.

Wheeler Wallace Livingston Toppin and Oscar need most minutes but Wheeler must have short leash

Thiero and Reeves needs more minutes too

Collins, Ware just spot duty
