I hope we appreciate Brad White

Love what he has done for us on defense. He’ll get a good HC job next year.

2 of the three times Rogers has played against UK, we basically throttled him.

White had a great plan tonight. We put some pressure on Rogers from a variety of places and came up and made sure tackles.
This. Love that he adjusted from last season. He hid the pressure well and kept MSU from finding a rhythm

Last yr the linebackers and secondary couldn't tackle. Last night when a State guy caught a dink & dunk short pass our boys tackled them 1 on 1. Valentine & Smith were excellent at corner.

Let's just hope the admin appreciates White. Another raise is deserved. And I've heard he isn't interested in being a head coach. As with Coen, our main worry is interest from the next level.

Agreed but we’ve lost so many coaches the last few years wjtb Coen, Sumrall, Wolfiord, Clink,…no reason Ky doesn’t have money to keep White at Uk Outside Of head coaching gig….no reason…make him highest paid Dc

our d is what I call sneaky good. We don't see alot of sacks but the d still keeps points off the board
The D is the one area of the team that consistently improves. The offense should be amazing given the QB/WR/RB but our line sucks, we are undisciplined, and our special teams are terrible. Start blocking, not getting major penalties in important spots and shore up some special teams and we could be really good.

I agree. Let's hope he dials up something for UT in a couple of weeks. I am sure he will.

I doubt the game plan differed from last year, or the year prior, by much.

We didn't miss 22 tackles, tonight, and our safties and corners are far more physical than last year.

This. Last year we had DBS who just wouldn't come up to tackle. Not the case this year.

Plus we had Jordan wright back. He just gives you so much flexibility vs a scheme like that. Will be huge vs ut too

Wonder if Matt house had any contribution to last night's effort? He shut down r9gers and showed the blue print. 2 years ago was a combination of white, and a first year coached leach team

Won't matter, TN's the SEC chosen again. 17, that's SEVENTEEN, penalties against their opponent. Unprecedented. Meanwhile Levis continues to be targeted by every headhunter/late hit artist in the league....with nary a call.

Maybe so but UT will be heavily favored and UK will be playing with house money. Stoops teams seem to play better when they are a heavy underdog. Most Vawl fans already have themselves penciled into the playoffs. We shall see.

Seriously, if I were Brad, I would want to throat punch Sacalaraga and Yennie

he has to be beyond belief at what is going on there

he’s a much better coach than me, so I am sure that he saw it coming in the Summer, but he still must want to do it

in all seriousness, this is yr 50 for me as a UK fan (yeah, I know, I rooted for another team for 5-6 yrs), and I have never had 3 coaches to piss me off as much as these 2 and the OL a$$hat from last yr - and that’s saying a lot

seriously

fix it and fix it now

Again: ran for 239, passed for 239. Won by 10 and it wasn't that close. What, exactly, DO you want? Air Raid 2.0 so we can talk about how many passes so-and-so caught after a 55-14 drubbing like Mumme used to do?

Could have easily scored at least 10 more points. I just SMH with people dissing the offensive staff who are working with a subpar OL that just might be finding its way.

We're top 20, just beat a ranked team pretty convincingly and some want 'more offense, 'exciting football', 'throw the ball around'. Me, I want more wins, period.

UK fans buying in to the stupid vendetta being started by the basketball blog against our OC are beyond ignorant.

Maybe Coach Scan should have throat punched White the way his unit quit against moribund USCjr in the 2nd half last week?

Don't be a fool & repeat the talking points of those who only want to create controversy & drama to get clicks & views.

My guess is he will blitz more left to his own/has the horses. It’s clear this is the scheme Stoops loves and he’s coaching to it.

I hope we honor the fact that he’s still out def coordinator bc I can see him coaching somewhere else very easily.

Yep. And had his front three rush in their lanes and got their hands up several times to disrupt Rogers. When the front three just concentrate on a big PUSH and not Rush so much it pushes the pocket into the QB making them uncomfortable and then getting the hands up makes it even worse. Then you can bring pressure from other places (corner, LBs etc.)

Gotta do the same with Hooker. He is really good when he has space to throw and you really cant stop them in those situations, but go back and watch the Bama game and Bama started getting push up front and everytime they got push enough to crowd Hooker he over threw or got picked.

You can bring pressure on occasion but you have to be careful for him taking off on you and breaking big scrambles so its better to rush in your lanes and get push then spy and cover.

The recipe to stop leach was discovered long ago while he was at UK. Just play zone and tackle. Do that and his offense is completely stymied.

Two years ago we did even better work but with better personnel. Last year wright was out and we had super soft DBS who hated contact. This year wright was back and much more aggressive dbs.

Guy is gooood! Not sure what his salary is, but I'm guessing some HC positions will be coming soon. He is a jewel.

I think you're right about what happened last year.....Ajian had a bad year, Dort was never a really good CB, and Valentine needed a year to acclimate (he's a ton better this year). I was stunned that we played that bad at Miss St last year.

But the offense/Levis was a mess in that Miss st game last year as well.

Agree. I think they had 4 or 5 tos.

Dort was horrible and a key reason MSU and UT had field days against us. No idea why they didn't sub Mosely as he proved much better once they finally pulled dort during the UT game. Corker and ajian had down years too. Even being down 2 safeties, safety play is so much better this year

Oh, you mean his effort at LSU slowing down Rogers.

I honestly suspect a film of our defense from our 24-2 beatdown in 2020 and this year's win would be pretty similar.

I was in Starkville last year. We seemed to always be in position for a TFL or short gain on those short passes, but missed tackle, after tackle, after tackle.

Mike Leach's teams have had one good road win that I can remember: at Texas A & M (yeah, LSU in 2020, but LSU wasn't much). They just look like a different team on the road.

Guys like White need monitoring. If Stoops were to leave for any reason, these are the guys to look up first.

I agree. Heck Vito, Geiger and Lovett are gong to be amazing safety play for the next few years. Good job. Buffano!
