Every year there is some guy on the bench that fans want in there hoping they deliver some type of spark or talent that is missing. However, this year, we definitely need that and like you, I will keep my fingers crossed that he is a big physical presence that attacks the glass, is physical, doesn't get pushed around, and can catch the ball, pass, and defend. We need someone physical besides Poy and Humphries. If we just have a strong rebounder that might be good enough.

When he fouled out he looked like a kid who is lost and has no clue where he is at or what he is supposed to do. He will most likely transfer or red shirt next year.

Skal isn't done by a longshot. Cal might have to try some different things with Skal to get him going. The games that I have watched him esp in the All-Star games last year he has way too much talent for everyone just to say that Skal is finished. When we have Murray, Briscoe, Labissiere all Freshman and Ulis a Sophmore we are again a young team. We just to have to be patient with these Freshman and this team this year and we will be fine when March Madness rolls around. We played horrible that 1st half and was still up by 1 at half. The 2nd half looked like the team we thought we were gettting at the beginning of the season. Once Ulis and Murray start hitting their shots and 3 point shots like in the 2nd half with Briscoe's driving to the basket and hustling we will be fine. Marcus Lee is getting better each game and brings alot of the energy to the court along with Poythress. If we can just get Skal back to playing like he is capable of playing this Team will be awesome come SEC play.

Most of the Australian players in the past have been pretty rugged. I would not expect that so much from a freshman but hoping that he's at least aggressive.

I for one, am stoked to see the Tall Black basketball phenom at UK. He can bring precisely what Cal needs to complete his team this year. Yeah I understand he's only 17, around 6'10", 265 lbs, been playing semi-pro ball 2 years (unpaid) against adult men and already has a world championship trophy. Yep, he's from the other side of the world, and it's wishful thinking to believe he'll play this year. Could this be reality . . . I think it will be. The Maori warrior haka is among the most savage exhibition on the planet.

About the haka Yahoo explains - The Maori are not one of the "oppressed indigenous people." Heavy emphasis on the indigenous. The Maori were not the original inhabitants of NZ. In fact they themselves came to the Island and engaged in genocidal warfare against the indigenous people wiping them off the face of the earth. Not only did they kill them, they also ate them. The display of the tongue in the Haka relates to this act as an indication to their enemies that they will not only be defeated, but also eaten.

Now that's "Bad-Assery" I know if I were confronting someone that big from that culture, it would scare the living hell out of me. Just saying. Exactly what we need to compete in the SEC this year and next.

I think your right on Ski needs some self confidants he needs to have a game where he hits his 1st one or two shots out the gate and rebound block a shot or 2, and he will be fine hell he's a kid just tall.
