Stoops has proven UK can recruit but the coaching staff needs an upgrade and play a more quick pace, modern open offense.. Teams nowadays don’t run for short yardage but pass for 4 yards.
Need a legit D coordinator. Stoops needs to find a guy and sit back and let the coordinators run it
Obvious deficiencies for sure but if we don’t sleep walk in first 5 min, get jobbed before the half, our kicker makes a kick and their doink doesn’t bounce through. We are right there. Just a few plays. Leary has been placing ball like an NFL qb today. Yeah it’s a bit disappointing but we can still have a respectable finish if we can play offense like this going forward.
Look at the recruiting ratings. They mean something in football.
WINNING brings in recruits.
Winning starts with superior coaching.
But keep telling yourself that teams like Mizoo have better players.

Defense unit has been a clustercluck. They can’t stop anybody lately. Offense finally came to life and the D laid an egg.
We’ve beaten Missouri 7 of the last 9 years. You still think Missouri has the better program?
It’s so strange that we went from having a defense everyone respected to Swiss cheese. We were talking about losing Brad white because he’s done such a good job but this year they are AWFUL
The horses aren't that far off in most positions. It's more about philosophy.
The program does need to be aggressive in the NIL department, but more importantly, the coaching staff needs to be more aggressive in their philosophy. Way too soft on defense in the firs half.
Stoops is one the longest tenured coaches in the conference. How many decades do you wonder he will be allowed to wallow in his mediocrity before the fans start just staying home much less PONY UP. Nothing will EVER improve from this point with these coaches and Athletic Director. Personally, I have no confidence in Barnhart to push for change/improvement required to make a difference.

Barnhart is completely satisfied with a "clean" program that makes money, gives hope, and stays right at or above mediocrity.
Wait a minute, Stoops has improved recruiting quite a bit in his time at UK. But he isn't recruiting at an elite level, t hat should be clear to anyone who keeps up with recruiting. But he schemes to compensate for that by not giving up the big plays, shortening games and controlling the clock. He isn't going to line up and outscore teams. He is scheming to give zUk the best chance to win.
I agree. Barnhart will accept mediocrity happily because it's easy to explain it away as acceptable because everyone knows the UK has always sucked and what we have now isn't sucking quite as bad. Not to mention Barnhart doesn't have to be bothered with another coaching search before he retires ... status quo is too comfortable for him to screw up now. Barnhart has proven to be a very sad steward of the Universities money that he throws at these underachieving coaches who now have no motivation to change anything. Stoop is not only mediocre but has proven himself to damned stupid with his PONY UP comment.
They are having a better year. Doesn’t necessarily mean they have the better program. Like he said, they are 2-7 against UK in recent years.
True ... finesse doesn't work in a conference that prides itself on smashmouth football.
He was that way before he got to UK. Again, when we hired him from fsu off a great stretch for them, their fans came by here and said ‘hey, we like him but he is not an aggressive caller. Bend don’t break valued over negative plays’ and that’s with elite athletes at his disposal at that time. It just seems to be his nature. And the more and more offensive the game has become the last decade the more defense is being valued by negative plays and to’s than it is yards. We also get some help on d stats because we play methodical pace, at best.
Missouri got the best wide receiver in the nation and had the NIL to keep him when everybody thought he would leave. They clearly have at least an equal or better roster than UK.
Actually it has been working for years now. You are confusing not meeting pipe dream demands on arbitrary schedules made up by those who understand nothing with failure.
What a defeatist mindset to not expect UK to be able to build on success and continue to climb the ladder in the SEC once reaching a level of success under Stoops. You aren't the morale compass for what fans should or should not expect out of a program that is paying its head coaches among the best in the entire sport and with that comes higher expectations. If it's too much then GET OUT!! Tired of being told how it used to be and that we should just be happy with a Bowl Game and a 10 win season every now and then.
Is that the standard here now? Just be happy with beating Missouri? Give me a damn break.

Same thing every year nothing changes Stoops beat easy nonconference teams and good or average SEC schools they lose.
Stoops has recruited better than anyone before him as coach at UK. But UK is still in the bottom half of the SEC in recruiting. So you have to be able to either out execute, out coach or out scheme. Stoops doesn’t seem to be able to do that enough consistently.
Last time I checked, stoops can’t pay players himself. He’s even said he would contribute to NIL if he could. Boosters need to step up. You want a football program, pay for it. Stop giving to basketball. Can’t have both.
He's getting paid very well for folks like you to be ok with mediocrity. No thank you.
Pipe dreams are with folks who expect nothing. Stoops gets paid to win. The SEC ain't tiddly winks. Time to man up.
