Either they don't care or they are stupid by keeping the championship on Sunday. Time and time again the NCAA has shown that Sunday games don't matter when it comes to seeding.
Most of the time, the two teams in the title game basically have their seeds wrapped up. 2016 was a prime example that they don’t have contingency plans and go with the Saturday plan.Oh they care. They get alot of $$$$ for it being on Sunday. Also, I think that theory is overblown that Sunday doesn’t count. They have said over and over they have contingency plans in place if something happens in a Sunday game that could affect some seed lines. Now Texas AM and Kentucky several years back made it seem like it didn’t matter, but that was an anomaly.
They want the $$$$ the most, and they want ESPN happy 2nd. Benefit to the teams is a distant third.Either they don't care or they are stupid by keeping the championship on Sunday. Time and time again the NCAA has shown that Sunday games don't matter when it comes to seeding.
Yeah it's been made clear in the past that winning the SEC tourney doesn't reflect in the bracketsMost of the time, the two teams in the title game basically have their seeds wrapped up. 2016 was a prime example that they don’t have contingency plans and go with the Saturday plan.

The only way I see them having a back up plan is if some bubble team or long shot gets to the title game. Lets just say it’s somehow Arky vs UK in the title game, then I’d believe they’d have a bracket with Arky in or out. But if it’s UK vs Tenn, I’m saying the seeds are already set regardless of the outcome.Yeah it's been made clear in the past that winning the SEC tourney doesn't reflect in the brackets
They can say it over and over, but their actions don’t match up with their words. They don't. They've literally said this over and over.
The head of the committee has been asked this numerous times after the bracket comes out and they ALWAYS say that they have a contingency for the winner and loser but it is TOTAL BS!!They don't. They've literally said this over and over.
Yep, 100 percent this. It’s all about TV. The SEC will not say anything about it because of the money the league receives from ESPN. The SEC will NOT put up a fight for the basketball programs when it comes to the money.
Heck, just watch how the ACC and Big 12 treat their Blue Bloods compared to how the SEC treats UK and you’ll see why the SEC tournament runs to Sunday.

11 and 16 come to mind. You got any examples of a Sunday league champion improving their seed? I really can’t name any off the top of my head. Please provide examples.

Gotcha. I got my lines crossed up on your first post. I think we’re on the same page.No I don't, which is why I said Sunday doesn't matter. They've literally told us that, and they've also backtracked on it in other years. They (NCAA) basically do what they want, and make the rest up later.
You would think that with the money that SEC football generates for ESPN, an Sat basketball SECT championship wouldn't be a huge ask. It's a small bone to toss the SEC.
Yes, they do.Most of the time, the two teams in the title game basically have their seeds wrapped up. 2016 was a prime example that they don’t have contingency plans and go with the Saturday plan.
Seeing is believing, prove us wrong committee.Yes, they do.
Didn’t matter when UK beat Fla in 2011 eitherOh they care. They get alot of $$$$ for it being on Sunday. Also, I think that theory is overblown that Sunday doesn’t count. At the end of the day it's ONE game. It really isn't going to make much of a difference when the committee is looking at your resume as a whole lol.Seeing is believing, prove us wrong committee.
I'd like to see documentation or an exact quote from the committee saying it doesn't matter with regard to seeding. And I mean currently.Either they don't care or they are stupid by keeping the championship on Sunday. Time and time again the NCAA has shown that Sunday games don't matter when it comes to seeding.
Are we really one of the best conferences? I'll be very interested in seeing how the SEC does in the NCAA tournament. I don't have much faith in any team from the SEC going very far.I think years ago the SEC wanted to be on Sunday to drum up interest because we couldn’t compete with the B10 or ACC in tv ratings. Now that we take basketball seriously we’re one of the best conferences.
A little bit of a jump from they have contingency plans to it’s just one game, but I get your point. I would’ve loved to seen the contingency bracket in 16 if we lost the SECT title game.At the end of the day it's ONE game. It really isn't going to make much of a difference when the committee is looking at your resume as a whole lol.
Probably for moneyEither they don't care or they are stupid by keeping the championship on Sunday. Time and time again the NCAA has shown that Sunday games don't matter when it comes to seeding.
Yea the SEC usually stinks in the OOC and NCAAT games but the top 6 in the league this year are pretty darn good. Are we really one of the best conferences? I'll be very interested in seeing how the SEC does in the NCAA tournament. I don't have much faith in any team from the SEC going very far.
