I don't like Danny Kanell.

I'm with you. Kanell hates the SEC. He makes irrational arguments just to try to justify his anti-SEC bias, and he always claims there are better conferences (plural) in college football. Huge d-bag.
The funniest thing is he claims to be objective, when in reality, he is an FSU homer and constantly goes out of his way to troll the SEC. Just look at the Jameis Winston situation last year. If he played for any SEC team, he would have had a field day addressing his off-field issues, but because he played for FSU, he was the model citizen.
He was the coach at that IMG Academy in Florida that goes nationwide recruiting kids to play for them. When it all started everyone thought it was to funnel players to FSU, but he left to take the sportscaster gig and they got beat in the opener. Almost their entire team are P5 prospects with quite a few 5* and several high 4* guys.
On a side not, Buford the biggest recruiting school in the state of Georgia got wore out Friday night by a tune of 41-17 in a result that made every high school coach in Georgia smile.
Kanell is a troll...and good at it.
He actually knows his stuff, but he definitely has a bias against the SEC, and knows that everything negative he says about the SEC gets all the dumb redneck portions of the SEC fanbases fired up. I bet he will be even worse now that he is on the radio show with Ryan Rusillo to get more ratings.

You're thinking of Chris Weinke. Kanell is doing what ESPN wants him to do, create buzz. Every guy they have has an agenda to get people talking. It seems to be working. On a side note, my boy Sihiem looks like he's had a decent start returning kicks.
