And win 7 maybe 8 games in regular season. I do believe CMS and staff put it all together this year. We get a good bowl game and the recruiting begins to pay off and continues to improve. I love the football Cats. I'm 66 now and have followed the Cats since 1960. I have to believe. I want to believe, I do believe. Call it a hunch, premonition or whatever but I really do think we go bowling and we will be on our way to consistent 7-8 or more win seasons. I know on paper it doesn't look all that rosey but it will be OK.

Can't count on True freshman to win in the SEC. Recruiting is for the future. If we have holes, that's not how you fill them.

But the good news is that the 2015 signees aren't the new guys. It's the 2014 redshirts that fill holes. We got a bunch of linemen, and linebackers, and defensive backs ready to step in. 18 of them. That's a lot of numbers where three our four positions can get taken care of from.

They better win 6 or 7 games next season and get to a bowl. Otherwise, their fate is sealed. And make no mistake, with the current recruiting class falling apart, that alone is going to come back and bite us in the ass at some point down the road. When you play in the SEC, you need to be able to sign top 20ish type classes pretty much every season. You can't have gaps in recruiting where 40th to 50th ranked classes are brought in and expect to compete in this league. Classes like that really hurt your depth and mean you have to go into battle with less ammunition than your opponent.

As long as the product improves on the field, we can offset any real deficiencies in this class with select JUCO recruits 2 years from now, with a better competitiveness pitch, completed stadium renovation, and nearly completed practice and training complex. 2-3 top 5 at position JUCO add-ons will probably round things out down the road. It is way too early to start freaking out.

We'll be alot closer to 30 than to 50 when the dust settles. Remember we're still averaging a 3.13 in quality we just don't have the quantity yet.

Several other SEC programs like MSU and Missouri has 30-40 classes sprinkled in their roster and it did not hurt them. UGA gets top 10 classes about every year and they are vulnerable at times against UK and others with much less talented rosters. It comes down to if this staff is legit in truly developing the guys they get. None of us expect UK to compete with Bama anytime soon. We do not have to get Top 10 classes every year to sustain excellence like they do. KY just needs to get good enough players to compete with the middle to lower half of the SEC and slowly build its roster over time. The 15 class has some quality players at badly needed positions (ex. Conrad). I do not think it will be bad enough to create a big gap like Joker's and other prior classes did. Win this season and seal a great 16 (top 15-25) class and things will be fine.

I hope the coaching staff does not panic and use the SSs on players just to have their quota of warm bodies. IMO it would be better to just keep the SSs and back sign some players next Dec. and Jan. Some early enrollees out of HS and some JUCOs that can come early.
