I'm a 60 year Big Blue Fan. For me, the last 10 years have been a miracle.
I'm a sucker for pre-season hype.
I think it is possible for Kentucky to be "in the hunt" every 5 to 10 years. (10 yrs ago I would take a bowl every 5 to 10yrs)
For that to happen, this team and fanbase need to realize, Alabama and Georgia CAN BE BEAT
They have lost 15 games over the last 5 years
Gotta get over that mindset.
WHY NOT THE WILDCATS?!?!

We can beat Bama in Ky; we cant beat Georgia in Georgia as the SEC refs wont allow it.

That said, if at Georgia is our only L we could still sneak into the Final Four, assuming Jawja wins out including the SECCG.

-uga will be a struggle.

-cats will beat bama.

Edit: don't need a miracle...the cats are a solid football team, quit living in the past.

We have beat Bama and Georgia before and we will beat them again. Don't ask me when, but I hope we beat one of them this year. It does not take a miracle, but we need to play our game and not screw up like we did in Oxford last year.

If you know... You know.

If we beat UGA or Bama, I could see someone calling for Coen. They probably will try anyways with a great year. Would it be worth it to beat them but lose Coen at the end of the year? (No, I’m not saying loosing keeps us Coen or lose out of fear, just a question if it’s worth it if that happened.)

Damn. That’s a tough question. I lean with no but the more I think about it. That would be a HUGE win.

We had a good year when he was here before and he left for the Super Bowl champs, yet came back. I think he'll be here for a bit. I've been a fan for a long time, have seen us beat both Georgia (multiple times) and Alabama. This year, if we stay healthy, it could come together. Both of those teams are top tier and have more talent than us, and have always had more talent than us. But, top 11 on both sides of the ball can be competitive, if top 11 are healthy. I'm looking forward to college football. At 87, I've only got so many seasons left and would love to see us win the East at least once.

Kirby hS a nice streak going against UK. It will end soon, but I don't think it's 23, 24 in Lexington will be the year, we lose almost all of the offense and some key defensive players from the 23 team.. Of course a few injuries changes that.

Good Lord!

Someone on here that is older than me. Nice post.

Will we be 30 point underdogs, I have seen 30 point dogs win, but beating both will be really tough.

Honestly I'm more concerned about finding a way to finally win at MSU than either of these games.

You lose these 2 games (highly likely outcome as Saban and Kirby are great coaches and have superior talent) but beat MSU and TN and SC and the rest and that's still a great 10 win season.

We have beaten MSU in Starkville before. Many factors suggest we win this game. Our program is moving in the right direction. Theirs is in the midst of change at the top. We outclassed them last year. Comes down to outplaying them in all three phases. I like our chances.

Someone else who believes like I do. Lol. It’s not conspiracy theory to believe an organization will protect their cash cow. In todays America it’s almost dumb to believe they won’t. To beat Georgia In Athens would take an almost miracle right now with them being two time Champs. We would have to overcome countless calls going their way at critical times. They may let LSU dethrone them. Alabama, or another top team that they believe can make a championship run but they won’t allow a traditional lower programs to knock them out of a title run. Just ain’t gonna happen.

Lol. The caption says it all. Kentucky 6-4 at Georgia 6-4. They were not the SEC cash Cow then. They will be 6-0 when we roll into Sanford Stadium. Like I said…. Just my opinion but we would have to destroy them to win. Every 50-50 call will go their way. Lots of 50-50 calls in 60 minutes. Tim Donaghy the ref who was caught fixing games said it only took 2-3 calls at crucial times to determine the Winner. Ask yourself with what you have seen in America the last 10 years if you truly believe the SEC doesn’t protect a title contender. No SEC team in the playoffs would cost them 20 million.

They are much better now, and so are we - stuff happens.

Point is the nay sayers said we had no chance in that game either.
Seems silly to me to say someone has no chance against a team that’s already lost 4 games but I get you.

You mean a hypothetical question to pass time in the off season?
No, it is a false choice, like I said before. Winning games is the prime directive, and you deal with the hosekeeping issues as they come up. Beating Bama or Georgia and hanging onto Coen are unrelated issues. We play every game to win. Our program is at a point where other schools come for our coordinators. That has been happening for years and will continue whether we beat Bama or not. Georgia, though they do not admit it now, tried to hire Eddie Gran. Michigan and others tried to hire Vince Marrow. LSU tried to hire Brad White. Other winning schools also deal with it.

I wouldn't hold my breath until UK beats UGA. Bama, maybe.

I woild be shocked if we win either one of those gsmes. Tennessee is the team we must beat to have a special season IMO. We have an unproven offensive line and are very thin at several positions and face a brutal schedule.

Gran was never offered the OC job, the UK writer made the claim while no one else reported anything, only opening was TE coach at the time. Believe what you want about getting some good calls, my guess is you can't name one time that a called changed the outcome in the last 10-15 years.

But UK is absolutely capable of beating UGA and/or Bama this fall. I just don't think it beats UGA in 23, 24 is the year we lose almost everyone and the one I am afraid the UK run ends.

That's great. What year was that when we last won there?

Stoops hasn't done it. He needs to get it done. We outclassed them in 2020 and got beat down there in 2021.

You can say it as many times as you like, I really don’t care what you say. I know how I meant it. In fact I stated that very thing clearly at the end of my first post didn’t I?

Already have my tickets to the game. If the OL plays to the BBW potential and barring any key injuries I like our chances.

Unproven? We haven't played any games yet. Prior to the season, every team is unproven. Do you doubt that this year's BBW will be significantly better than last year? I don't. As far as depth is concerned, this is one of the deepest UK teams talentwise that I can remember. Our 2023 OL is a great deal deeper than 2022. That doesn't mean every single position is four deep. But this is a good, solid SEC football team.

I think it happens soon, just not this year, of course as you say a key injury or 2 can change things.

Stranger things have certainly happened, but I actually think UK has a better chance at upsetting Bama this year, we play them at home vs Georgia on the road.

Like you said, anything can happen, but Bama has 2 new coordinators, trying to find a QB, a gonto WR, a go to RB. If not for Bryce Young they were no better than 8-4. I think they have some struggles offensively. UGA has some questions too, will Beck play the season as good as he looked in spring game, will Bobo be the OC he was at UGA with Stafford and Murray or the one fired from AU. Time will tell I guess.

Question: where do 90% of the 5 stars go to school? Easy to only lose 15 games in 5 years.

Why is recruiting top talent looked at as a negative? Is CMS telling 4 and 5* kids not to come to UK? The ability to recruit elite talent was, is and will be a variable to being a top program. If it weren't teams wouldn't spend money recruiting hs kids, scanning the transfer portal for anyone they think can help their teams.
