It's a joke. Even less defense than the NBA All-Stat game and that's saying something
The season is over for these guys. Cannot blame them for being less than enthusiastic about hitting and being hit.
The few times I have watched any of it, it has been about that way. These guys make too much money to put much effort into it to risk injury, especially when it comes at the end of the season with free agency on the way in like 5 weeks.
That was the incentive to get guys to play. Not sure Hawaii even has a stadium now.
All the things that make football great are not present in the Pro Bowl. There are no sports where a lack of effort is more glaring than in football. Football is like war because it is a contest of men imposing their will via force expressed in sweat and effort upon the adversary. Anything less is an affront to the game and belittles the majesty sheer will displays in physical confrontation with the enemy.
I had never watched any part of the "Pro Bowl" until this year and I kept thinking "why do they even do this".
Remember when a college football all-star team would play the NFL champ from the previous season? Game was shown in black and white, played at night with a white football. Think the college all stars won maybe once in the years the game was played. I recall the game being played like mid-summer.
I don't blame them...they spend all year getting pummeled. This game means nothing. It should no longer be played.

Was having a burger in a bar yesterday and the "game" was playing. I was stunned by the lack of effort. The NFL should just shut it down but of course they won't because it makes money. Sad to see what sports have become.
The beauty about not enjoying watching the pro bowl is you don’t have to watch it next year if you don’t want to. These guys just went through a 17 game season and more if you made the playoffs. I won’t get upset that they don’t want to give an effort in an exhibition game.
They should simply announce the pro-bowlers and have some festivities. No reason to play the game. A big time fan meet and greet would be much better.
Maybe he did enjoy the jail cell and the jumpsuit. After all, he and his cellmates were all wearing Tennessee orange.

Honestly I think I'd be OK with there just being a bit more fan fare surrounding the players nominated to the Pro Bowl roster and that's it. The game will never be full speed or contact and that's fine. Just honor the guys who played great this season and let them get on with their offseason.
MLB is by far the best All Star game. NHL is 2nd. They get after it. NBA could actually be worse than the NFL because they can llay full speed full contact and dont. NBA is a total joke anymore.
