IMO he's pretty clearly being played out of position. That experiment may need to end.
Cal sticks by certain players every year. As even experts have pointed out, if Cal had played Ulis over Harrison we most likely would have won another National Championship. But, long-term perhaps from a recruiting perspective, maybe Cal has to do what he does in order that highly ranked players know that he has their back.
Vitale said, and I completely agree, unless Skal develops by the end of the season this team will be very good but not outstanding. Humphries is a decent player but I am not sure he is elite either. I still wonder why we don't see Skal and Humphries in there together at times but at the present Skal is totally lost.
Kenny Payne said on the call-in show Tuesday he thought it would be at least one month before Skal would look comfortable on the floor. I'd say Payne knows what he is talking about.Don't see the heart for playing big time college basketball in Skal. Especially at UK. Hope I'm wrong.
I've heard enough excuses for Skal. No more moving the goal post. The guy had ZERO rebounds in this game. That's how he responds. I don't care about the points. Zero rebounds shows no heart and no effort. It actually shows he didn't give a rip. He's 7'0, playing center, and not playing world beaters. He should have logged a few boards.
He should be on the bench, recruiting aside.
Yes, because that's where players really get out of their slump. Good Lord, I thought you were a better poster than this. Giving up on a kid 10 games into the season. So, he's not Wall or Davis or Towns. He probably had a third as much playing experience as those guys coming into this season. He's having difficulty adjusting to the game at this level. So what if he was overrated. He's here and we need him to get better, not rot on the bench where he is sure to not get any better.

Ok, I can agree he should come off the bench, but the way some were talking today, they are already done with him. Sorry that I mistook your meaning.
Too bad we didn't have a backup pg to play over Harrison in '14, right? So maybe we would have been champ instead of runner up?
Y'all kill me with that crap. Go put it on a t-shirt or something. Get it out of your system.
One thing I've come to realize about the Harrison's is, their attitude reflected their desires. They were winners, and winners are alpha dogs. They butted heads because that's what alpha's do, even if that's the coach. They'll do well in life.
Call me when Skal lands 26 against a team that isn't directional tech.Skal had a game with 26 pts. Call me when Humphries does that.
He is clearly having trouble learning to play the post position and his confidence is shot. We have seen his talent in early games though. I think it's funny that people are saying he was so overrated and that he "sucks". We've had plenty of freshmen struggle early, but this season it means that he really just isn't any good I guess.
Cal will provide a tweak to Skal's game and he will prove he belongs.
I'm sure that Cal would tell you that the 4 and 5 are interchangable in his offense.IMO he's pretty clearly being played out of position. That experiment may need to end.
Skal stat line today:
0 points
0 rebounds!!!!
0 assists
0 steals
1 block
5 fouls
13 minutes
Agreed.. Why would fans want to bash two players that were here two seasons and got us to two final fours. We should be grateful for their effort. Especially their freshman year. They put that team on their backs. They were good players man! So disrespected. Only one team can win it but they helped is get really close twice.

No, I do not agree.I don't get the Skal anger. We are 9-1. If Skal does not improve at all we are still good enough to compete for the title in March.
Agree.
