Me thinks he will play a bigger role in the final 1/3 of the season than we once thought.

From rebounding to some easy buckets, from changing a few shots to blocking a few shots.

He can give a few fouls. He can simply spell somebody like Poy for a few minutes.

This all adds up to a fairly sizable difference in how and what we can get done in a game.

Might as well....he is a big body that will come in handy if he continues to rebound and block out when the guards drive the lane. Those two things would help tremendously....

Only interior who has shown us more is Poythress.

If you include Willis as a interior player, than also Willis. Humphries got 6 rebounds in 15 minutes. This is what we are missing big time.

You can have nice rotation of 4/5 with Poythress and Humphries. Then have Lee/Skal off the bench.

Willis can also provide minutes there but also at the 3.

Guard rotation of Ulis/Murray and Briscoe.

I would think that's a high quality team if polished.

Whoever is playing PG needs to slip him a pass from time to time on the pick and roll. He appears to be the 1st big man we've had since Marquis Estill who can reliably hit a gimme.

This is all I have asked for... a chance for him. NO WAY he's worse in the 5 than Skal. Not to rail on Skal - he's got a nice little jumper, can dunk if completely undefended and hit free throws, But Hump can hit free throws, AND REBOUND with put backs and defend. The rebounds and put backs alone are so helpful. Even if he keeps the opponent from getting cheap offensive boards (and put backs) it's huge. Skal cannot or will not rebound. More Hump, less Skal please with a side of Wynyard (though I'm about the give up on that one for the season). Hump has played and wants to play the 5, meaning he knows how to get rebounding position, look for certain passes, knows how to defend it better. Skal does not want the play the 5 now at the collegiate level.

He should play over Lee and Skal at this point!!
I would cut Lee's min..he's just a mop up role player..10-12 mpg...To win this we have to have some inside production..Skal and or Zac have to step up and make an inpact..8 &8 would do it..

So I guess that would break down to Skal 6 & 1, and Humphries 2 & 7. [winking]

He screwed up a lot that UF just didn't take advantage of. i think at most he's a 2 minute here and there type of guy because after a few trips up and down the court he just starts taking plays off

All about match-ups for Hump. Unless a team has a 5 who is not athletic enough to play on the perimeter then he's not going to get
that much time. I like his skills but he's not that athletic and slow off the floor. If they don't intend to post him up and get him in the offense then what's the upside
other than helping out in the case of foul trouble.
